Historically, the NFC East is the strongest division in the NFL. But the unrelenting and abject failure of the Cowboys for the past 25 years has cast the entire division as a shit hole. Dallas was so successful for so long that the other teams in the division had to work full time just to finish second. During the Cowboys dominant years, the second, or even third place team in the division, would have won most every other division in the NFL. Now, the entire division is a dumpster fire with all the teams able to compete for the division title with fucking terrible teams. Terrible ownership is rampant in the NFC East and less than stellar coaching has plagued the entire division for years. Without a dominant Dallas, the entire division went to hell because they could.
The Giants were able to grab a couple of SB's as the under dog but they haven't been dominant in a very long time. The Redskins haven't been for relevant even longer than the Cowboys and the Eagles have never really been relevant.
History may say the NFC East is a power division. But that isn't the current reality. And it hasn't been for a very long time.

Remember when everyone praised the AFC north last year because they all had good records when in reality it was because they played the worst 2 divisions in the NFL. This year is the opposite and they played the best 2 divisions in football and it made them look worse. Next year the AFC north will be above average again because they have pretty easy interdivision games

The Steelers and Bengals both played pretty well to their potential in the reg season, but the two villages of Cleveland and Baltimore dragged the division down this year, in the same way that the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets drag down the AFC east. Also comparing to last year when the AFC north had both of the wild card spots and even the fucking Browns went 7-9, this year was worse.
