Walsh. You have to consider the fact that Romo wasn't the normal holder and he wasn't practicing holds every day. Walsh is payed millions just to a kick a ball.
>>
>>64827855
>Holder points laces towards the kicker.
>Kickers fault.
>>
>>64828063
Direction of laces has nothing to do with the flight of the ball.

It's just a mental thing for the kicker who should get over himself
>>
Webm/gif of walsh?
>>
>>64828924
No. You're dumb.
>>
>>64828924

if this is a 50 yarder... maybe we talk about the laces. in terms of a chip shot from 25 out, laces mean literally nothing so yes the only reasonable explanation for the laces actually affecting the kicker is some psychological effect
>>
>>64828924

>He has never kicked a football
>He has never kicked a football in -4 degree weather

Minnesota offense did not do shit the whole game, and if Walsh had not made the other 3 field goals they would not have been in that position.
>>

Words of someone who has never kicked a football.

>>

>>64828972

from how close it was, this is a retarded argument and i'm sure walsh himself accepts full responsibility for missing.
>>
>>64829164
What's weird is how the holder didn't just do it once but twice. Either way it's Blair's fault for missing a chipshot.
>>
>>64827855
This will never not be funny. Walsh was just painful

Romo.
Probably the funniest play of all time. It's so much fun to watch him choke on his own spaghetti.
>>
>>64829871
Why him?
>>
>>64827964
Confirmed for someone who wasn't watching football back then.

Romo was the holder all season. He was the backup QB/kick holder going into the season. He was even the kick holder in the pro bowl you dingus.
>>
>>64829871
buttfumble was better
>>
I'm sick of the >muh laces bullshit. It was a chip shot fg.
>>
>>64829871
>funniest play

buttfumble or that retarded colts play that happened recently were funnier
>>
>>64828063
He kicked a 40+ yarder with the laces toward him earlier, so I don't think it matters too much for him
>>
no one blames the real reason the vikings lost, AP's fumble

>2007: Romo botches a 1 yard FG

Why are the Seahawks so goddamn lucky in the playoffs?
>>
>>64827855
romo easily. this will be the clip they always play for him when in the playoffs. they opened up the seattle game today with it on nbc
>>

>not mentioning the worse luck of losing last years owl at the 1 yard line

Pats got luckiest
>>
Romo because how hilariously pathetic it looked.
>>
>>64830602
Kearse' catch was much luckier than Butler's interception.
>>
>>64828063
Laces mostly affect distance. Direction is affected somewhat, but definitely not to that extent

Romo actually isn't too bad considering she is the first female quarterback in the NFL.

They are pretty fucking lucky senpai
>>

what? dude. You do realize that how the foot strikes the ball has EVERYTHING to do with how the ball flies, right? i mean you aren't THAT stupid?
>>
>>64828063
Football n00b here.

What's the significance of which way the laces are facing? Are they supposed to face the kicker or the holder?

Laces didn't have much to do with the bad kick, it was more the way the ball was placed.

Retarded colts play is embarrassing to watch and I'm not even a colts fan.

Yeah this mang. Hawks shouldn't have even been in the position to throw that interception.
>>

yeah you forgot the most important fuck up. luckily karma got to them in the superbowl :)

my wifes son - Russell Wilson
>>
>>64830560
No team has shown "you make your own luck" like the hawks have. Yeah they got crazy lucky multiple times, but they put themselves in those positions.
>>
>>64827855
Walsh. In the context of being a Vikings fan, it was one of the most painful moments I've ever had the displeasure to watch.
>>
They share the blame
>>
>>64827855
it occurs to me in this gif that if the fucking kicker didnt let that fucking seanigger get past him like he was nothing then romo would have actually made it
>>
>>64832519
This, stupid fumbles happen all the time and not only to QB but clots was a shit of the entire team and coaches and I'm not even from the same country of marcos sánchez
>>
27 yards. 27.

Anyway, Burfict is gettign released right?
>>
Romo really shouldn't have been the holder in that situation and would've gotten into the endzone if the kicker had given him a block

Walsh had a reputation for missing short field goals before and shanked what was essentially a gimmie FG
>>
>this play almost cost the Lelphins their perfect season

>>
>>64832829
Cowboys fan here, I think about this every now and then. What if Romo had somehow juked that defender and run the ball in? He would have not only made up for his blunder, but the Cowboys would almost certainly have won the game.

And what sort of effect would that have had on his career? Instead of starting off with a spectacular blunder he would have started off with a miraculous, game-saving act of clutch play. Maybe he wouldn't have taken so long to finally become clutch. Maybe he would have achieved greatness sooner with this as a confidence builder. Maybe the Cowboys would have won an Owl by this point.

It's such a butterfly effect thing.
>>
>>64830074
Except that one was dead center. This was left hash. Had it been in the middle it would have been good.
>>
>>64832428
Kicker here.

They face outward toward the uprights. The reason for this is because you want more area of contaxt with your foot hitting the ball and you can control where you will be aiming it much better. With the laces facing you, you can have wild results because the area you are contacting becomes a bit wonky.

If you want more insight he actually missed the kick more so because his planting foot was facing outward. The direction your plant foot faces is where the ball will travel.
>>
>>64829881
Because this anon hates the Cowboys. This causes him to feel greater joy when they fuck up.

Humor is subjective
>>
>>64830410
AP is bullet proof.
>He fumbled all over the 09 NFC title game and Brett throwing the pick at the end eats the blame.
>He fumbles today to give the hawks the lead and it is Blair's fault for missing 1 of 4 kicks when they blew a 9 point lead.
>He beats his kids and it is rewarded with not getting the Ray Rice (blackballed) or Greg Hardy (media campaign to ban) treatment and instead wins Comeback player of the year.
>>
>>64833033
The league will probably suspend him. Cincy will not cut him, just like they won't fire Marvin Lewis or any of the other playoff coaches /sp/ will deem unfit before this is done. Just because shitposters equate not winning the owl to grounds for termination doesn't make it so.
>>
>>64833321
Not winning the Owl is one thing, but going 0-7 in the playoffs really should lead to something changing.
>>
>>64833261
AD is the vikings. If fans turned on him and chased him out of town then they would have nothing left.
>>
>>64833342
Look what firing Perennial playoff loser Marty Schotenhimer has done for Cleveland, Kansas City pre-walrus, and San Diego. Trading a good team for basement dweller isn't the answer
>>
>>64833033
no he still has a couple years left on contract and is a great linebacker. no way they get rid of him.
>>
Walsh, by a wide margin, a guarantee chip shot from 27 yards out? By a guy who has made 3 other different field goals? He's been Mr. Automatic all day, and all he has to do is nail this one in and the Vikes are on their way to Carolina. But for that to happen to such a snake-bitten team is just another heart brake in Minnesota
>>
>>64828063
A professional kicker should be able to kick a deflated basketball 27 yards in a straight line

>brake
>>
>>64833601
Well he did kick it in a straight line...it just wasn't inside the upright.
>>
>>64827855
Romo was worse because not only did he fuck up the hold he was 1 yard short of scoring a TD on the play
>>
>>64833813
>Romo
did he died?
>>
>Seahawks are lucky

People say this because they don't respect good defense. Seahawks play great D which gives their offense a lot of opportunities to win. With more opportunities comes the chance for the ball to bounce their way. Look at last year's NFC CG, we call it a miracle but it was really the D keeping the Packers to field goals ans The Seahawks offense clicking at the end. The on-side kick wasn't luck. Bostick didn't execute. He fucked up. Like Walsh did at a key moment. He kicked that to the left because Sherman almost blocked the one before. But none of yall pay attention to the games. You make your own luck.
>>
>Cowboys fans dedicated to Romo
>dedicated to mediocracy
>showing their true colors
>>
>>64827855
Dick Sherman obviously doesn't know shithawks history, said something along the lines about how they never get lucky on the FGs.
>>
>>64827855
Well, the Walsh kick was so bad it gave David Bowie cancer and he died.
