You can't just have a near 90° hill where you fall to the ground. It has to be under a certain angle but for that you need more speed at take-off. FIS currently only allows maximum inrun length of 127m which limits the speeds.

Not only is it impractical but even if done someone would possibly kill himself. Planica was always extended gradually. IIRC both first over 100 and 200m were set there.
