the globetrotters have always fascinated me, even though i know absolutely nothing about basketball. when i was young i used to think they they were the best team in the world, and that they were so good they weren't allowed to compete in the nba, so they were forced to tour the world as some sort of circus act. are they actually good, or are they just for show?

The Globetrotters used to hold an annual exhibition game against that year's reigning NCAA men's championship team, and they would usually smash them. The NCAA eventually outlawed it because of butthurt.
