Lawler point fought in round three. He landed a couple of big shots, then backed away for the rest of the round while Condit peppered him with kicks and an an occasional punch.
Basically, that's the point fighting method for big punchers. Land a big shot, then back away for the rest of the round. You get outstruck but your big punch automatically wins you the round unless you also get hit with a big shot, and you won't because you're avoiding engaging.
