Yeah MSL was done but you can't argue the motivation and leadership he provided in the locker room.
Hagelin was a homegrown guy and had come up with a lot of the guys on the team. That helps with complacency because you want to work hard and win with guys you've been around for awhile.
You replace them with shit players like Etem and Stalberg who bring zero personality or leadership to the room, that's a big part of the team gone.
Stoll was a nice try at trying to bring in more veterans, but he's a fucking coke head for fucks sake.

They brought him in as a cheap replacement for Carl Hagelin, because of his speed. It was more a case of "we can't afford Hagelin and have to dump him for nothing so we might as well dump him for this underachieving prospect who can skate fast"

Hagelin was a very good forechecker, you'd be surprised how inspiring that is to teammates, to get them to get into the zone more aggressively. Rangers are definitely missing that this year.
MSL again wasn't so much about offence, just what he brought to the room. Stalberg isn't a leader, and Etem seems like a legit retard who would be annoying to have around (just read his twitter/instagram), and probably hurts the team just by being there.
