Assuming you meant to reply to >>64586049 , Kießling is a great forward but he's not the classic striker who just bangs it in. He had one great season where he scored a lot but generally his value is being a target man up front, binding defenders, setting up teammates, etc.

With players like Berabtaov and Chicharito, scoring goals is their trade. They don't do much else, but they are good at scoring.
And you always underrate that quality until you suddenly find your squad lacking such a player.
>>
overrated reddit tier shit: the player
>>
>>64592454
is Kiesling like the only pure forward germany has atm?
>>
>>64592511
Well there's also Müller.
And Klose was a similar type of player.

>It's not just about money

>I doubt Ronaldo would have wanted to stay at United with Real Madrid basically saying "we're going to build a team around you make you an absolutel superstar"
united could have countered with the same and higher wages. Ronaldo was already a superstar back then and madrid wasn't in their best moment when they signed him. He already had a ballon d'or. He went from winning CL/league, finalist CL/ winning league to absolutely nothing at madrid (no league, eliminated in CL by oly lyonnais, out of cup by alcorcon).

The only reason he was sold is because the united owners wanted him to be sold. They'd rather have the money than the player. They didn't even bother signing a proper replacement. The only reason he left is because he was granted higher wages. It's really that simple.
>>
>>64592757
You really think Ronaldo could have matched his current global icon status if he stayed at United? This whole Messi rivalry, being the face of Madrid and everything that comes with it?

He knew what Real were offering.
>>
>>64592801
I think united could have kept ronaldo easily but decided the money was more important than the player.

And considering united is the top team by number of fans worldwide, and the premier league too, I think he could be as popular as he is at madrid.
>>
>>64592870
>i think he could be as popular as he is at madrid
are you high andres?
>>
>>64592897
you think ronaldo couldn't be as popular as he is at madrid if he had stayed at united? he would have won more leagues, probably more CLs (with proper squad investment), he wouldn't have been exposed time and time again against messi/barcelona, etc. Keep in mind his growth as a player would have happened at united instead of madrid, so his popularity would have grown accordingly there too.

If, worldwide, united is the club with biggest fanbase and the premier league is the league with biggest following I don't think it's too far fetched to think he could be as popular or more than he is now.
>>
Why did he leaved Monaco?
>>
>>64591438
At 4:40 you can see the beginning of his lame turnaround jump celebration
>>
>>64576019
i liked him in police academy movies
>>
>>64593000
He'd be in a squad where players like Rooney would be competing for 'face of the club'. He'd also be playing in a league where he can't score hattricks every other week.

He wouldn't have all his scoring records and he also wouldn't have the Messi rivalry, the latter especially boosting his popularity. The whole idea that there's Messi, Ronaldo and thenv everyone else might not exist now.

And at the end of the day Madrid is more of an 'institution' than United. Being a Real Madrid legend is worth more than being a Man United one.
>>
>>64591294
>Determination: 1
when he was at spurs there was a game, think it was against bolton, possibly west ham, where spurs had a man sent off. i have never seen a lone striker step it up quite as much as berba did. he played like 3 men. spurs were properly under it and just hitting long balls desperately, and they just stuck to berbatov, and he turned them into genuine attacks. change my opinion of the lazy cunt that game did. great player. massive cunt but cool as fuck t b h

Did you post this thread to boast about Chicharito? Did you know no matter how many goals Chicharito scores he will never be a starter in a top league again. There will always be another more well rounded player/talented than him. hernandez is a good goal scorer but he lacks talent and skill to be a top striker in a top team

He is more likable because the way he celebrates is more genuine and says more about how he viewed himself and the game itself. More "I really love this game and I am happy to be excelling with a great team", than the "I am the best, I don't need the rest of this team, I am the best, the only" celebrations he does now. Taking his top off and shit and flexing. What a faggot.

>Listing those players

Do you mean

>Scholes, Giggs, Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Rooney

Because they were their best.

Tevez was probably their worst player in that squad. Anderson was bright, but ultimately a sub. Nowhere near good enough for the first team. Remained as potential.

Berba - Great player. Not the right fit for United though. Had one great goalscoring year though.
>>
>>64598590
lol his hair was the ultimate goat fashion at the time

he was at his peak of beauty tbH literally every woman was crazy about him back then
>>
>>64598725
>Tevez was probably their worst player

That isn't saying much though. The likes of Aguero would have been our worst player back then.

Tevez is a tricky one. On the surface he looks to have little technical ability, he's clearly mentally retarded and it often shows on the pitch 0 intelligence. His movement is average, he's awful in the air. Really all he has going for him is his work-rate. Never stops running. Also he has a pretty decent knack of smashing the ball low past the keeper into far corner from any angle.

I think he was a great player. A player that can improve any team with his work-rate alone. But he was never world class or even close to it. Never.

Tevez was the Park Ji Sung of strikers. Crucial player in the overall system. Individually, weak.
>>
>>64599100
I think that his best trait is his mental strength and determination. Plus the guy has won a title on every team he played (except for west ham, in which he was important in avoiding relegation)
Still sometimes he seems to be playing with a bucket on his head.
