How can you support a professional sports team in America? They are literally franchises. They change their name or even the city they are located in. It's like supporting Wendys or KFC.

We don't over think it
Don't have a philosophy on sports. It's too meaningless

If i was american, i would be into college sports big time i think. Its great how much its being televised.

But Wendy's and KFC play in different leagues here, you can support both if you so choose.

I wonder the same thing about people who support certain European teams, like MK Dons and Arsenal.

Pretty much this, we don't seek connection like that in sports, we find it in other ways.

College is great

College has similar downsides to European leagues.
Unless your a top school in the particular sport it's pretty unlikely you'll break through unless the school decides to start spending tons of money on athletics.

You wouldn't if you did a little more research into how high school stars are "recruited" to go to colleges by bribes, cars, strippers, extra cash, anything to get them there and keep them there. Plus college athletes can now transfer to other programs if they feel they aren't getting enough playing time at their current program.
They haven't been "student" athletes since the '80s.

At least they don't force parity until it loses all authenticity
