Pottsville supporters argue that the suspension was illegitimate because the League did not then grant exclusive territory rights and that- in any event- they had verbal League approval to play the game in Philadelphia. Further, they argue that the Maroons, who were reinstated the next year, would have had the best record had they not been suspended. Others claim that Chicago were the legitimate champions based on the rules of the time. In 1963, the NFL investigated and rejected Pottsville's case, and in 2003 refused to reopen the case. Both the NFL and the Pro Football Hall of Fame continue to list the Cardinals as the 1925 NFL champion.

Well, NFL titles still count. But once the Superbowl became the main championship it got downgraded. It is now the NFC Championship. So pre-66 NFL/AFL titles are still relevant as Championships even after the point they got replaced by a new one.
Arbitrarily saying your championship is invalid because of the time past is a bad argument (I've seen some saying that SB5 forward only all the way to only last year counting). You can say that Super Bowls are the only thing that matters now, because it is the main title now, but in the 1919-1965 time period football still existed and crowned league champions. Your opinion is it doesn't count, but factually it does and is. And still is, not to repeat myself but the NFL and AFL titles are still competed for every season, that's how we get the two competitors for the Super Bowl.

Okay, maybe we can abolish the Superbowl for next season and start a new championship so Cowboys/Steelers/49ers/Patriots fans no longer have claim to all those ancient wins, Since it has been two whole eras since its inception.
