they know manning is on his way out...they're trying to give gordan experience while at the same time securing a great draft position. They're trying to hook up their roster so that when manning retires they can come in and win the division.
lose the division this year and play the loser of the other divisions next year = easy schedule. Even easier when the broncos are no longer a factor.
