Except all he did once he was taken down by Mendes was throw short punches to the side of the head and a few elbows. He spent the remainder of round 1 on his back, and was only able to get off the ground in round 2 because Mendes went for a submission. If someone with a decent ground game is able to get on top and control him like Mendes did then I think it's likely he'll get submitted
