Not everyone is Adrian Peterson. Each person is different, sticking to their recovery differently and what not. I'm not a doctor, you're not a doctor. There have been leaps and bounds in ACL recovery the past half decade or so, but before that it was not uncommon for a player to perform less than expected the first season back and back to old form the next season.
There is also the question of how badly he injured himself earlier this season. He's looked bad since and isn't even attempting to plant or pivot with that leg.
Hopefully next year. Though for every Kiko there is a Maclin, Bradford, and Thurmond.
