Glenn Hoddle, the former England and Tottenham boss, has warned Guardiola that the Premier League will prove to be a far tougher challenge.

'He will have everything to prove in this country because it is different here,' Hoddle said.

'If you go to Bournemouth - it is not like Barcelona going to Getafe or a team down the bottom where they are scared stiff of you.

'There are three teams in La Liga. The rest are technically good teams but they all play the same way. In this country you have to earn every single point you get.'

Glenn Hoddle is a dumbass pundit that somehow everyone in the media pegs as an intellectual. He talks like teams that are "scared stiff of you" fall apart when you play them. Nothing could be further from the truth. These types of teams are the ones that park the bus and make it getting the result you want. Guardiola lost one league to Mourinho thanks to playing bus parkers and injuries (not having his most creative players available). The major difference between every league Guardiola experienced and the Premier League is that most teams in the EPL are better players playing in caveman-tier tactics.

>>64414976
You can't cruise with a shitty squad and no time to implement your ideas and game model. Expecting Klopp to deliver the goods day one is retarded.

Hoddle confirmed for shitposting on /sp/. I've never seen anyone outside of /sp/ that wouldn't suck Pep's pipe just for fun.

He's right though.

The other European leagues except maybe Germany are utter shit underneath the first division, quickly trailing off into village teams and reserve sides.

The Championship is one of Europe's biggest leagues by all sorts of metrics, and even below that in League One there are clubs like Bradford City and Sheffield United getting ~20k in.

Going even further, there's teams like Stockport County in the sixth tier with crowds from 2-3k. At this point, most other countries leagues are literally pub teams, whilst ours still have small stadiums and are paid.

This is a local tier eleven's ground. Tier eleven. Admittedly they share it with a rugby team but it's ridiculous.
>>
However well he does at City there will be an upset against a third tier side in the League Cup and /sp/ will erupt.

You're already watching a league dominated by Spicharito and Salomon Kalou so why not.

>>
>>64415877
Chicharito scored tons of goals in his first United season though. Stop pretending he was incapable of scoring in your league.

Kalou, yeah well i guess i have no excuse for that other than that Hertha are nowhere near the top, very much unlike Leicester
>>

>literally who imparting lessons lol

He won a good number of trophies and never played for a huge team

Tottenham Hotspur
UEFA Cup winner: 1984
FA Cup winner: 1981, 1982
FA Charity Shield shared: 1981
FA Charity Shield runner-up 1982

AS Monaco
French Division 1 winner: 1987-88
French Cup winner: 1991

He is correct, La Liga is internally less competitive. We're halfway through the Spanish season and Rayo, the 12th placed team, already have -34 goal difference
>>
>>64415856

Huth has won two premier leagues, already a proven winner
>>
>>64415803

>Hurr durr we have a gazillion clubs therefore our smaller clubs are really strong while other leagues have 1-3 teams

>>
Why do Spanish posters come here to bitch about the premier league and English football exclusively?
>>
>>64415964
Because English clubs can't get away with playing at 50% for an entire season and that effort takes its toll when big matches come around
>>
>>64415964

But they aren't the shit clubs you simpleton. Shit clubs don't get the chance to play in Europe.

Avergage Championship teams like Wolves or Ipswich would be able to win the Serie B, Liga Adelante or 2. Bundesliga at a canter.
>>
>>64416014

A brief review of the performance of english teams in continental competitions this season:

Southampton loses agg 1-2 to FC Midtjylland
Tottenham ties 1-1 with Monaco, loses 1-2 against Anderlecht
Liverpool loses agg 1-1 (pens 4-5) to Besiktas, ties 1-1 with Sion at home, 1-1 with Bordeaux, 1-1 with Rubin Kazan at home with 1 extra man
ManUnited loses 1-2, ties 0-0 with PSV after buying their best player, loses 2-3 to Wolfsburg
ManCity loses 1-2, 0-1 to a depleted Juventus
Arsenal loses 1-2 to Dinamo Zagreb, loses 2-3 to Olympiacos, loses 1-5 to Bayern Munchen
Chelsea loses 1-2 to Porto, ties 0-0 with Dynamo Kiev
West Ham wins agg 1-1 (pens 5-3) against Birkirkara, a team from MALTA, loses agg 3-4 against FC Astra Giurgiu
>>
>>64416107
Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and City topped their groups. Arsenal finished runner up to Bayern.

Pretty good.
>>
I dunno why people get all upset about it when it's only been four seasons since an EPL side was in the CL final.

Oh no English football is finished after a slight dip in form.

People overrate pep far too much

At Barca and Bayern he had world class players and the budget to buy whoever he wants. The premier league dont have that, which makes it more competitive even if it isn't as good. When Pep tries to teach his players to play 'his way' he will probably end up a poor version of Brendan Rodgers and run with his tail between his legs to PSG

Bayern were better before him, barca just won the treble so they aren't exactly missing him. Guessing he will retire before he is 50 like numerous other meme managers
