Saying the stadium is in Jersey as some sort of insult or derogatory comment is ridiculous. The stadium is literally right over the bridge from Manhattan , it's like 15 miles away and a 30 minute drive at worst with the worst traffic conditions. It's for all intents and purposes in the NYC metro area.
There are tons of teams in the NFL whose stadium is a much further distance from their city center, but pretty much only the NY teams get shit because muh arbitrary state lines.
Everyone that lives in that part of Jersey is basically from NY anyway, most commute in and work in NYC.

which ever team is considered the "home" team has the stadium set up with their decor.They sell that teams gear, have souveneirs that are for that team, food based off that team (soda cups with giants or jets on it) and the stadium announcers tell the stadium to cheer in favor of that team.It's not rocket science.
