CL teams actually have the time to refine all aspects of team play and group tactics, the players actually get to know better how their teammates react to every situation and many aspects of the game get automatized. This is why the last countries to win it had a big part of their starting players playing for the same club.

That Barca team would destroy Germany in, let's say, a Cl group stage game, but i have my doubts if they would be as dominant in a WC final, Germany being a what we call "Turnier Mannschaft" or tournament team which usually get's better and "gels" more at the further stages. One of the main differences between the WC and CL is money, although they get paid a fair amount for winning the WC, the main motivation is glory and greatness, whereas the CL is mostly about money, as it happens every year and you can play several CL campaigns in your prime, but only about 2 WC's.

Okay tactics, but have to go with what your country has, if your country has 3 good LBs and 1 good CB you're gonna have to play a couple guys out of position, if your country doesn't have a good striker or has 3 good strikers, you're out of luck getting them all on the field in a formation that works or using a shit striker (I mean the US is using Jozy fucking Altidore).
