Is it really that tragic? He was still a great player for most of his career. He's a legend at Atletico and Liverpool and he won the World Cup while he was still good. Even though he declined a lot at Chelsea, he still won a lot of trophies, and even Chelsea fans love him for the goal against Barca in the Champions League. Plus, he's back at his hometown club to end his career and is playing ok.
