Can we get a sports-related maps thread?
Don't know if I'm the only one who finds these interesting.
>>64283412
I always thought the Jets were more popular than the Giants
>>64283605
Giants have more super bowls
>>64283605
Noo, that's not how it works. There is this stupid New York thing where Yankees fans are Giants fans and the Mets fans are Jets fans
It's an incredibly stupid superiority/insecurity complex that is inbred within the culture on the ground in New York. You have to be there to understand, you have to roam the streets and talk the retarded new york borough accents to get it
>>64283412
>Cardinals, Seahawks, Broncos, Vikings, Packers, Saints, Patriots
Teams that own their entire state.
>>64283412
>that squeaky clean Cardinals area
>>64284135
Steelers own not their own state >western virginia. Same with Nanners and Hawaii
Patsfags own "5" but NE is so inbred and closed off it's basically the same state (I love NE the area though)
Broncos and Cowboys own 2 states. Seattle is very close as I think the only reason there is grey (unclaimed) is almost certainly there being no data.
Seahawks are the largest geographical area due to >alaska
Isn't Vitoria just Salvador?
>>64283173
I find them interesting too, OP. If I wasn't on my phone going to sleep, I'd post some
I once mapped out the local soccer clubs in my state's competition.
There's about 150 of them.
This is a good idea for a thread huebro
These things are interesting
(represent)
which players from the current brazil national team were from favelas
which black national team member was from the wealthiest family present or past
>>64286760
family can you toprepresent and stop embarrassing canada thanks
>>64286754
>>64286754
water yu talkin about nigga
>>64283173
better pic
>>64286563
Got a link to that?
NFL with current logos
>>64284053
It's not really stupid, just a result of history. Yankees and Giants are old flagship teams of their leagues. Mets and Jets are upstart clubs without much success. Both used to share a stadium and more or less represented the borough they played in.
>>64283412
What is all that blue in Virginia? Surely people there have more self-respect than to bandwagon the Cowboys...
>>64287018
and with retro logos
Something special
>>64284053
W-what? I grew up a Mets and Giants fan and that's the pairing for most folks I know. I'm in White Plains
>>64287070
I'm assuming you were born after one or both football teams moved to NJ.
Used to be that Manhattan and the Bronx were Yankees/Rangers/Giants/Knicks fans (because they all played in Manhattan or the Bronx) and Long Island was Mets/Islanders/Jets/Nets fans (because they all played on Long Island). And Staten Island would always be a weird mix.
>>64287125
I'm Giants Knicks Islanders Mets, born in 1992
>>64284053
Isn't Jon Stewart a Mets/Giants fan?
>>64287163
>Walen
>>64287148
So, yeah, you were born well after both football teams and the Nets had moved to NJ. The whole local fandom went to hell once that happened.
>>64283412
Huh, I didn't realize the Raiders were still so popular in SoCal. Thought it'd still mainly be the Rams.
>>64287190
Het zou leuk zijn om Eupen terug in 1ste klasse hebben, puur voor de miems eigenlijk.
hier, een moslimkaartje xxx
>>64287166
Didn't know the French part sucked so much at football. Why is that?
>>64287339
>brussels
could this map BE any more invalid?
>>64287346
They suck at finances. The same could be said of the Italian part really, considering Lugano went bankrupt. But the French teams really suck at finances. Servette went bankrupt twice and got forcibly relegated to the 3rd division, and will probably lose their best talent soon, and not even for much money since he doesn't have a professional contract yet. Lausanne-Sport went bankrupt, though they have a good shot at getting back into the Super League next season. Xamax went bankrupt, and had to be restarted from the third division under a new name. FC Le Mont had a good chance at promotion last season, but never would have been granted a first division licence, due to their shitty financial situation.
>>64287367
What's invalid about it then? This is the source (from 2013 I think): http://www.npdata.be/BuG/239-Moslims-2013/Moslims-2013-gemeente-gewest-be.htm
The non-league club of the UK
>>64284214
As someone who lives in AZ, I'm shocked. There seem to be more Bears fans here than Cards
>>64287061
There are a lot of black people in Southern VA. A lot of them root for the Cowboys because they're the primary rival to the Redskins, who historically are a racist as fuck organization
>>64287061
Seems like where there isn't a very close NFL city they bandwagon the Cowboys.
I'm not surprised they wouldn't pick the Panthers or Redskins.
>>64284053
That's the stereotype, but the reality is that the average New Yorker picks a baseball team and just roots for whichever football team is doing better
>>64284309
>Western Virginia
You mean West Virginia? That state whose eastern panhandle is clearly Redskins territory?
>>64284384
Vitória is a club from Salvador-BA.
There's a city called Vitória which is the capital of EspÃrito Santo, that small state bellow Bahia, so that might confuse people sometimes.
does anyone have a pic of the portugese first and second league and the locations of the respective clubs
i was browsing maps and saw the location of santa cruz, they have a team right?
Stadiums of the London clubs past and present
>>64287125
actually this is what I am used to in south florida except for the basketball thing. Where pretty much 99% of new yorkers are knicks fans. only the people in my generation who remembers jkid nets teams rooting for the nets.
>south florida == 6th borough
I wish this had NPSL teams as well.
>>64283193
Love this. Always wished American sports could have real local rivalries like this.
>>64291004
Our niggers do, killing each other is good sport.
>>64283173
>Tfw no deep in the jungle Manaus team to manage in football manager, lead to Copa America glory, eventually become irl fan and follow them through the internet
Suffering here lads
>>64291004
Hockey and college sports is the closest you will get to that.
Oh and I guess MLS if you want to count their forced "derbys"
>>64291090
There's Paysandu and Remo from Belém.
>>64291091
Yeah there are plenty of good rivalries but very few local ones.
Ohio/Michigan
Alabama/Auburn
Redsox/Yankees
Steelers/Ravens
Relatively local considering the size of the country but still a couple 100 miles apart.
US Open Cup map
Bums me out that so much of the map is empty.
Small country but it's still nice the clubs are spread all over it.
>>64291129
a club from Belem named after an uruguayan city, madness
You have to go back seven years to find an east german team in the first division.
>>64291862
Have to go back even further than that to find a team from East Prussia
:(
>>64283173
>Sao Paulo
>>64291360
UCLA-USC is what you're looking for
>>64291729
>Bums me out that so much of the map is empty.
Uh, the only part there that shouldn't be empty is the South, especially around New Orleans
Though if college teams were part of real leagues like BYU is instead of conferences, then you'd see no dead zones.
>>64293348
I was talking about the south and the midwest though, even some of the mid Atlantic states.

Notice the NY Jets don't have a single county.
>>64286732
Is Deutschland the only country where the capital has utter shit teams?
London at least get some leagues
dumping some recent shit
>>64294844
>49ers
what? why?
>>64294940
Team of the 80s
>>64294940
And usually the most hated and loved team is the same team.
>>64294723
Isn't that the case in Turkey as well? All the good teams in Istanbul while nobody knows if Ankara even has one.
>>64283173
I like it anon
>>64297662
yeah but istanbul is still more relevant (industrial & comercially) than ankara
how "irrelevant" is Berlin compared to others importants cities in deutschland?
I thought it's still the most important city but i cant certainly tell
>>64290577
I see a lot more 49ers fans here. For obvious reasons.
>>64291862
>no vfl Bochum
what a shit map
>>64294844
lol wtf is this. The results of a reddit poll with about 20 replies?
>All the countries with no real local rivalries
Sounds depressing man. Nothing more fun than going into work or when younger school after getting one over your rivals
It must be boring living in a place where everybody supports 1 team
>>64298384
Berlin's pretty shit, desu.
The economy ticks in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, and the Ruhr area.
The best looking and most cultured city is Vienna.
Berlin is... nouveau riche. It has the government, the wall, and little else.
And we tore down the damn wall.
