Ok, let me explain. Liverpool played much better when the kop was booming so Klopp wanted to thank them with the players. Also he wants the crowd to be that loud all the time so he rewarded them.

There, that's why it happened, now stfu.

The fans pay the players' wages and offer them support.

That both sets of players don't thank (or accept admonishment from) their fans is one of the reasons there's such a disconnect between teams and supporters.

All this defence of not facing the fans post match is nothing more than putting the players on a pedestal and not thinking anything wrong about it. You can expect it from children but there's a word for adults who demonstrate that behaviour.

The Liverpool manager and the players went over to thank the fans after a game. It's embarrassing because they thanked the fans even though they didn't win.

i remember playing football in high school. it was a really small and new school, and our football team was garbage. we lost every game by at least 3 touchdowns all 4 years i played. we sucked, but it was still fun. after every game, our coaches made us go thank the fans. we'd take off our helmets, put our arms around each other, and sing the school alma mater with the fans after the game. one game my senior year, we were playing away at some school across town. we lost, and we were getting ready to sing to the fans. as we were walking over, one of the refs came over and said we needed to clear off the field now. our coaches tried to explain we had a tradition with thanking the fans. the refs just said "this isn't pop warner little league football anymore. there's no need for that. please clear out soon so we can prepare the field for tomorrow morning."

i guess my point is that my brand new, tiny, middle of bumfuck nowhere high school football team that went 0-36 my 4 years on it was told that staying after to thank the fans in an organized fashion like that wasn't for a high school-level team. leave that to the lesser teams who need the "hey you tried, great job guys!!!" motivation.

liverpool is a smaller club than my high school football team.

As people have said many times, it is normal to thank fans for their support, but this type of celebration is excessive and unnecessary given the circumstances. It's not even a controversial thing for me to say, since there have been so many threads about it, and anyone saying otherwise is a Liverpool fan.
>>
I kind of like this desu. The handholding is a little weird, but going over to thank the fans is a great gesture. In a lot of games here, half the time the players will just walk out of the stadium and one or two fans will maybe get a high five.
>>
>>64238254

players applaud the fans all the time, pretty much every club every game does it, the issue people have with this shit is that what they did was over the top and a bit embarrassing considering the result

>>
>>64238355

celebrating a draw at home against a mid table club when you have top 4 aspirations and believe your are one of the biggest clubs in england means it is very relevant

Yeah only the British do this. Uruguay did not shit themselves in anger towards the FA banning Suarez for being a (albeit talented) dirty cheating cunt.

Except West Brom didn't celebrate that win like they'd just won the league, and they had far more cause to than Liverpool did last night.

It wasn't in Germany though was it? Celebrating a draw at home to West Brom is sad tbqh.

They're celebrating a win. That's far more appropriate that what little Liverpool did.

Typical banter, meme, lad bible, twitter culture these days to take the piss out everything.

I doubt lfc fans will want them to shake hands and leave in an orderly fashion next time because other teams fans are laughing at them on the internet. Great to see some passion.

Would you have klopp as your manager? Think nearly everyone in this thread would.
