Would you rather have commercial breaks after every change of possession, kickoff, timeout, injury, and booth review or your teams jersey stitched up with sponsor ads?
>>
Jersey sponsors obviously you mong. Besides close ups they're practically negligible
>>
>>64134667
lmao senpai the networks and nfl want both who cares what we think
>>
>Ads during the play period of a sport

The one reason why soccer wins every one of these arguments tbhfam. The absolute worst we have here is a logo on the front of the kit, and some ads along the perimeter fencing, both of which are very easily ignored during playtime.
>>
>>64134791
This. It's not like they'll take away ads from TV if they put them on the jersey too. Fuck the NBA for putting shit on the all star jerseys
>>
Just do what NASCAR does and have the players rattle off brands that helped them win when in the post-game interviews.

>>
the way NFL is though it's kind of naturally set up for commercials. you'd just have more dead time where they are showing players moving about aimlessly. it's not like play is halted for the sole purpose of commercials like in hockey.
>>
>>64134667
I would unironically prefer commercials because I'm a Lions fan and I need frequent breaks to drink and cry.

If we're going to be absolute shit at least we can look good while doing so.
>>
>>64135975
I don't even notice the field ads until you guys point them out

Excessive ad breaks always piss me off though
>>
>>64136243
the thing is that it's not like in American football the game rules have been written in such a way to facilitate commercials. high school games are the same structure - if I go see my wife's son's school there's a lot of sitting around while things are arranged, players change sides etc. When you're watching it on TV, there's a commercial during that time. It's just how it's structured.

I would vastly prefer commercials to having to hear Phil Simms rant
>>
>>64135975
ads painted onto the field arent that bad but this photoshopped in shit is really distracting

Those are painted on though. It's just that the Home hardware ads are fucking garish.
>>
>>64136509
are they? what the fuck, that looks so unnatural because they're directly facing the camera, not following the contours of the field
>>
>>64136509
No there not, its computer generated. When the broadcast switches cameras the ads are gone

Holy shit I though Emirates was a soccer team. I see people with a "Fly Emirates" shirt all the time. Why would somebody literally wear an advertisement in public if they aren't getting paid for it? Not only are they not getting paid, but they PURCHASED the shirts.
>>
>>64137000
like 20 different teams have that sponsor
>>
>>64136897
That's what I was trying to explain here:
>>64136328
Football has natural breaks in it that soccer doesn't have, without commercials you'd just see dudes standing around a lot more than you already do
>>
Just cut out the commercial break after the extra point followed by kickoff and a commercial break and I'm fine with them. Football naturally has stoppages so filling that time with commercials doesn't really bother me, plus most sponsors on uniforms look horrible

seeing the team get ready for the next play is just so boring I want to see what is going to be the most popular trend this season or what is coming out soon whether it'd be a game or movie. Nobody actually watches football for the game , and if I was asked what team I root for I simply think of a team that played in the superbowl done.

Well that's just the nature of American football. Ads and stoppage time are built into the way the game is played. Stopping as frequently in povertyball would be pretty fucking bad, but I think the stoppages are somewhat of a necessity in American football (although they have been abusing the fuck out of literally everything they can to fit in more commercials lately)

In the UK you're only legally allowed to have 12 minutes of advertising during 1 hour of broadcast. So often during British NFL broadcasts, they'll go back to the studio to review plays, talk about the game and engage in studio banterâ„¢ while waiting for the American broadcast to come back.

By about 30 mins.
A high school game with 12 min quarters and a 20 min halftime show runs about 2 and a half to 2 hours 45 mins.
NFL games with 15 mins quarters and all the breaks runs about 3 hours to 3 hours 25 mins

Well, if Am Football went the way of As Football. I would still support the team (Even if they became Team Farmersonly.com), but not be anymore invested in whatever company that bought them than I already am.

Besides teams already sell ad patches for practice jerseys. It is only a matter of time before they make their appearance on game jerseys. And even if it gets to the point that the team is just a walking advert for Apple or something, there will still be 20 mins of commercials an hour. Unlike As Football that even here in the states airs uninterrupted excluding half time.
