>American leagues: The people and city are slaves of ''their'' teams to avoid relocation. tax money eaters.
>Rest of the world: the teams serves their people and city unconditionally. private-money/stadium only.
Why burgers are so passive about that?
7-1

>private-money/stadium only.
Unless you're West Ham
>>64114785
>>64114785
good question. this is really the worst part about american sports
>>64114802
Or Manchester City
>living in Oakland
>>64114785
>All my multi million dollar empty stadiums
You cant be that delusional my favela friend.
>>64114832
>Not being employed by based google and living in OakGOAT
>>64114857
Silicon Valley and Oakland are not the same place.
>>64114857
Everyone lives in the city bruah. Oakland is ghetto as fuck.
>>64114857
You have no clue what you're talking about, Oakland is a Detroit-tier shithole.
>>64114857
oakland is basically brazil: the city
>>64114785
Professional sports aren't anything other than a business
There would probably be more relocations outside the US if there weren't already teams in every city
>>64114964
While they are a business, OP is onto something. In Europe the teams are competing against each other, while in the NFL (best example), there's no competition. It's quite literally a fucking cartel.
>>64114964
actually, lots of clubs around the world are not run as businesses, though to stay competitive many of them have to adopt some business principles.
lots of german clubs allow fans to vote on all important matters, appoint executives, etc.
>>64114785
>Comparing teams that belong to cities as opposed to entire countries
The teams that belong to cities don't have almost a hundred other options if shit goes ass up. The market is competitive and can move elsewhere.
How about talk about places that build whole stadiums for the world cup using underpaid workers in an unsafe work environment only to have said stadium go unused for years at a time?
who /eastbay/ here
sf fairies and daly city gooks need not apply
>>64115171
yeah..yeah!
How about those stadiums BR? That Stadium in the Amazon Forest is really useful and how about the world biggest parking lot aka Estadio Nacional. $3.7 Billion dollars well spent, right?
Not to mention FIFA and Sepp Blatter got all the profit from it. What did you get out of this my fellow BR?
>>64115091
They're adding way too much into this shit
>>64115040
So?
It's entertainment, not a way of life
>>64114785
supply and demand you fucking monkey. There are only 30 or so spots available to be a city that has a pro sports team and more than 30 cities that could host them
>>64114857
>working for google
>commuting the hell hole that is the golden gate bridge rather than just living in SF
Teams are franchises, not really clubs. Just one of the things about sports here. I think the NBA would be interesting with a European system, considering the smaller sizes of the rosters. The 76ers would get relegated instead of having their hand held by Silver to be vaguely competent.
>>64115381
>They're adding way too much into this shit
what?
>European leagues: no football anywhere, literally just gay ass divegrass kick ball
>South American leagues: see above with more game related murder
If the whole franchise thing is the price I pay for an actually entertaining sport, it is worth it.
>team gets relegated
>entire board gets arrested for fraud
>now a semi-pro team in the 7th division
bravo europe
Why do soccer fans need to constantly attack American sports? Why do they need to riot, sing songs, and join clubs? Can't they just watch their sport and be happy? Is soccer really that boring?

Why are you even on this site?
