Stats for goalkeepers are lagging behind detailed stats for outfield players at the moment but there are useful metrics taken from percentages of saves from areas shots were taken in that more likely to be dangerous - things like that

This skill is the single biggest factor in a goalkeeper's success. Thus, positioning is the single biggest factor in determining what makes a goalkeeper "good." When someone is skilled, they are good. Positioning is a skill. This is not complex logic.
