Let's take a look back at 2015. Who is the man of the year? Which moment was the most exciting?

I want to say Valverde, but fuck me that Sagan worlds win m8 epic stuff.

Contador was a beast as well considering he held his own on a close twin peak season against guys on much more favourable cycles.

Which moment was the most exciting?

Worlds, in particular mens RR but it was all good, and Paris Roubaix

>Italian butthurt because of Sky

pro tip: cut out the nutella vincenzo
>>
why are brits so good at cycling bros?
>>
>>64094118
They aren't

British cycling is just drowning in so much money that they can afford to put athletes on 4 year cycles, and people hail them as heroes when they beat 1 year cycling competitors who don't have the luxury of being able to flop at worlds

that and sky with their nxtlvl doping that just doesn't make any sense and is probably only facilitated by their giga budget

the Belgians + Cancellara + Contador are still the best
>>
>>64094171
sounds like unsubstantiated lies and butthurt to me

rule britannia!
>>
>>64094221
Put doping suspicions aside and the whole Olympic cycle thing + Spartucus/The Belgians/Contador being the best is fact
>>
>>64094171
>the Belgians
Who exactly?
>>
>>64094256
if contador(confirmed doper) is the best why did froome win
>>
>>64094260
Boonen, Benoot, Gilbert, GVA, Eddie Theuns, Debusschere, Vanmarcke

>>64094272
Because 1 peak season v 2 peak season in those circumstances is only going to end one way, even Contador can't overcome something that basic
>>
>>64094260
>>64094308
oh shit and Vandenbergh and Lampaert as well

and I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting
>>
>tfw you btfo plebs who know nothing about cycling

>>
>>64094724
we know all we need to know: britain runs this shit, and no amount of butthurt can change the quantifiable facts.
>>
>>64094746
>best riders are Belgians, Spartacus and Contador

"no"

Shit an entire field of WT pros can't stop on form Cancellara
>>
>>64094773
>3 TDF wins in 4 years
>olympic dominance
>"b-but muh JFs that havent done shit and are proven cheaters are better"

lmao get out of here you hipster retard.
>>
>>64094793
>the tdf is the only race

and there are plenty of holes that can be picked based around the almost Moser-Giro-Esque 2012 parcour and Berties attempted double peak in 2015 diluting his form.

let me know when a brit has 3x flanders 3x roubaix and beasts classics like Cancellara, then we can talk.
>>
>>64094793
and ofc the Olympic dominance is driven, as mentioned, by the allowance of GB athletes to train on 4 year cycles when pretty much no others can because of nat fed pressure for worlds results each year
>>
>>64094846
TDF is the biggest event of the season. nobody gives a shit how many minor tournaments a tennis pro wins if they dont win a major

also cancerlara is a cheater who used a motorised bike rofl
>>
>>64094876
>considering the monuments a "minor" event

>muh motor

please if you're going to troll at least try and be subtle by saying things about how sky has muh marginal gains and something something wiggins got last in the lead group at roubaix so that counts, this is just poor quality.
>>
>>64094916
>using facts is trolling

Sorry, which event has the biggest prize purse and media attention again? Which country has won it for 3 of the last 4 years? You can keep fellating your cheating JFs all you like, but the facts speak for themselves
>>
>>64094953
The monuments are the most prestigious races senpai, the tdf is literally entry level sky fan babby tier cycling that makes the most money at the expense of the wider sport

and you've still yet to show another rider who can do absolutely nuclear stuff like Roubaix 2011 or Flanders 2013
>>
>>64095021
Yet without these "entry level" events your sport would be dead in the water. You should be glad we're actually taking an interest and investing in it instead of shitting on our riders and sucking off confirmed cheaters.
>>
>>64095099
>cycling would be dead in the water without the tdf

do you actually work for the aso?

there are swathes of fans throughout europe who have no interest in the plasticity of the tour, prudhomme pls leave
>>
>>64095192
Oh i get it, you're one of those self-hating hipsters who believes cycling should only remain popular with the "traditional" nations. get fucked, senpai. british dominance is here to stay whether you like it or not.

don't worry, we'll have our magic wheels ready again for 2016.
>>
>>64095300
no, Britain should get involved in road cycling, but as a wider sport, not just going full retard and the defacto national team making it's one A-Race the tour every damn year

embrace the sport as a whole, breed spring classics riders, ardennes riders, giro/vuelta riders, sprinters, not just going full USPS and muh tour 24/7

shit, even USPS had a decent classics squad, sky is even worse than them in terms of focus.
>>
>>64095406
welcome to 4 year cycles, enjoy your stay

I'm really it's fair because there's no cheating or anything, but it means the Olympics are just between Aus and GB all the damn time
>>
what does /sp/ ride?
I'm looking to get a decent road bike for next year and want some suggestions

I gather that Jamis offer really good value in the USA, and I think bikesdirect also. Cambria bicycle outfitter also has some good deals sometimes. I guess shop around a lot really, like anything.

I, personally, would choose 105 level componentry, wheels with a high spoke count, and a solid aluminium frame. That will offer a very nice bike to ride with a high level of durability and reliability, while at the same time having good resale value if you decide you don't like it. But It also depends on your budget and ambitions so idk.

And remember to always clean your bike regularly and throughout, especially degreasing the drivetrain.

I'll say head to /n/ for more detailed advice in the bike buy general or bike questions general, but take everything they say with a pinch of salt and make sure to do your own thorough independent research as well.

If you do have any more questions for me now tho I'd be happy to help.
>>
>>64096354
My current bike has Ultegra components and am very happy with it.
What is the difference between 105 and Ultegra? Isn't 105 designed to be more durable?
>>
>>64096718
105 is cheaper and heavier than ultegra, but I would say lasts longer. And unless you're doing lots and lots of climbing, or any sort of racing, it's really good.

Do you have 10 speed or 11 speed ultegra?

2agan. 2agan winning Road WC.

For other side, Quintana losing to skeleton was anticlimax. Doumolin's dêbacle in VaE last stages was also disappointing.

Was letting Kittel go and putting their hopes into Dumoulin a mistake from Alpecin?

Will Kittel suffer a major hair loss from now on?

I wouldn't say they're putting all their hopes on dumoulin. Especially since degenkolb has shown what he is capable of.

http://cyclingtips.com.au/2015/12/report-chinas-richest-man-jianlin-may-try-to-purchase-the-three-grand-tours/

This mad man is trying to take over all sports.

>Jianlin is China’s wealthiest person with an estimated fortune of almost $30 billion. In addition to many other business interests, he owns a 20% stake in Spain’s Atlético Madrid football team. Earlier this year he purchased InFront Sports & Media, which holds some of the marketing rights to FIFA’s World Cup, and recently bought WTC (World Triathlon Corporation) who owns Ironman for $650 million.

>After that acquisition the new Wanda Sports group was launched in November, and claims it is the “largest sports operating company in the world.” According to Milano Finanza, this company is considering purchasing the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España.
