THEN you changed it. They have similar records...so what? One played a much harder schedule. Northwestern beat Stanford at the beginning of the year, and then Stanford finished the year by beating many many more good teams than Northwestern, and won a conference to boot.

NCAA rule for intraconference transfers, not Big 12 rule, and the school from which an athlete is transferring can release them. Kingsbury declined to release Mayfield because Mayfield had a scholarship waiting for the fall. There wasn't one available to give him for the spring semester and Mayfield knew it going in. Yes and no. He played in an era where defenders could anally rape receivers with the ball in the air and his job was much different than a quarterback's job today. Isn't that how most people tackle? I always tried to hit a RB in the hip and scoop his legs if I could and if I couldn't do that because of an angle, I would grab his hip and roll or try to slide down to his ankle and roll. I was a safety in a 5-2, if they got to me and I didn't bring them down, they scored and I was blamed. Also, teams would try to pass on us a lot and I was pretty much responsible for hash to hash. I got my fair share of jacking people up, but my fondest plays are when I brought down someone who could've just as easily juked or ran me over to score.

They ran the ball too much in our division for me to want to play corner on an island. I was at outside backer for a bit until they realized I wasn't going to get much bigger than ~205 so I got moved to safety. Played corner before I hit my growth spurt and was like 150, maybe getting run over so much tainted my experience and by the time I played safety, I could hold my own.
