Maybe now Brady has 'elite' talent to throw to, but for most of his career he's had to make do with no-name players, guys like Troy Brown and Deion Branch.
Christ in 2013 Brady took a set of offensive weapons that consisted of Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins and Julian Edelman and no Gronk to the AFC Championship Game. Brady elevates guys.
Prior to the emergence of Gronk and Edelman proving to be Welker 2.0 but with far better short area quickness (and better hands in clutch situations), the best talent that Brady had was in 07 with Moss, Welker and Stallworth at WR.
The set offensive weapons that Brady had at the start of this year was probably the best of his career, if Lewis and Edelman had remained healthy I think there would have been little doubt that the Patriots would represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
