Cleveland is never going to amount to shit until they get an actual QB.

Bosa is legit though. He's widely projected as the best player in the draft and he'll probably go #1 overall whether or not the Browns are there to get him.

Get the fuck out. The Browns flat out refuse to draft Ohio State stars, they could actually turn to some Ohio homerism for a change. And it's not just the Buckeyes but other players from Ohio, are you saying you wouldn't like Kuechly, Woodson or Roethlisberger on your team?

>comparing college success to NFL success
They're completely different leagues in completely different systems. The whole recruiting process, the meme offenses they run, the lack of voice from the players, it's all different.

If you want to watch a team that always wins, then watch OSU. Don't bring down the Browns too
>>
>>63930358
Ohio produces some of the best high school prospects in the nation, per capita I think only Texas and Louisiana are better.
>>
>>63930379
There may be more high-level players, but if a player is from Ohio that doesn't make them automatically better than others. You have to evaluate them based on their playing ability, not on whether or not they grew up rooting for OSU or some bullshit
>>
>>63930377
The Steelers, one of the best pro organizations out there, apparently have absolutely no issue drafting OSU players. But whenever someone suggests the Browns should draft a player like Bosa he gets called a delusional Ohio homer. Watch the Ravens pick him then and turn him into an all pro for all I care.
>>
>>63930409
The Steelers' draft selections have nothing to do with whether or not the player is from OSU. They've drafted a whopping total of eight in the past 15 years.

Bosa is not a good example because he's a good player and everyone in the league wants him. My problem is with the people who automatically see an OSU player in the draft and want the Browns to draft them regardless of any issues. They're deluded by watching those players succeed on the college field and they don't understand how evaluating NFL talent works, simple as that.
>>
>>63930128
Damn that's pathetic

>Such as?
Oh, I don't know. The fact that his team lost one fucking game and he cried, then blasted the coaching staff and announced he was leaving the team to the media directly afterwards?

Sometimes you guys are so blind. These are the exact kinds of red flags that have become a problem in the Browns' recent draft selections. This kid literally broke down in front of the media after one loss. You want to see what happens when he gets to lose 10 in a row with the Browns?
>>
>>63930697
I don't want Zeke with the Browns, for the record. We have other, more glaring needs. And if being passionate about a game is a red flag to you then be my guest. If it came to that I'd rather have him than utter scum like Mingo and Manziel who flat out admitted to not giving a fuck about their performance.
>>
>>63929639
McCown and Manziel have been absolute magicians with this team considering the dirt they're getting paid.
>>
>>63930775
>And if being passionate about a game is a red flag to you then be my guest
There are things more important than being passionate about the game. Fun fact, the Browns have based their draft selections for the past two years on how much they, quote, "love the game of football". Turns out that's not always the best idea.

Every player will tell you they love the game of football when they've had successful college careers. Of course they're going to give 110% when their team is constantly winning and they're held to a very high standard. What's more important is how they will be able to respond and adapt in the NFL.

Mingo has been disappointing to say in the least, but he is still working. Manziel has actually improved despite the off the field issues. I still wouldn't touch Elliot with a ten foot pole.
>>
>>63930775
Winning when you're out of the playoffs doesn't count ever. Period. Good for them for at least being honest.
>>63930697
This is correct. Coaches have shown time and time again that busting up the locker room isn't worth their talent. McCoy and Harvin, especially Harvin, are prime examples of this.

Pettine hates him.

Manziel isn't anything special yet, but he showed real improvement on the field this year. He needs to keep playing to keep improving. They cannot go to a new QB after spending a first round pick on him.

And now, when the season is meaningless so they don't even have an excuse to ride the hot-hand, they put him last in the depth chart because Pettine got the grumpy dumpies. Gronk parties as well, and he's able to still be successful on the field.

The entirety of the front office, from the owner down, needs vacated, but I would shocked of Pettine and Farmer stuck around another year.
