Bit of an exaggeration, but you can learn everything in them. Look at basketball where you'll get scouted just because you're freakishly tall. Being tall isn't a skill. The skillsets are hollow.
Those guys already mastered such hard disciplines like running in straight line and catching a ball, eating 23 pizzas per day and push a guy and the art of passing the ball with the hand. Things that take 6yo eurokids almost two hours to learn.
Having acomplished that, anything is impossible for that guys.

When it's possible to be a professional in two different sports then the standard isn't very high. If the whole world played handegg then every team would have an elite qb. Only one country plays so the talent ppol is small and the standard is low.

actually a lot of football players play divegrass pre-high school because football is only football if you can hit hard, which is usually not good for a developing child, plus the equipment is expensive. then when the balls drop, they realize divegrass is too boring and they move on to football. the wimpy ones return to divegrass within a year or two
Most NFL players start playing organized football around 11-12. With that said only the freaks of nature could get by with not playing till college.
With that said soccer is a shit ton more technical and you have no chance to go pro if you dont start getting serious coaching at age 8-10.

Also, you gotta remember that American football is a game of many different skill positions which use different skill-sets to achieve different jobs on the field every play. With so many positions that are needed, of course players in other sports will have an easier time finding their place on a team and adapting their unique skill set.
