Assuming they beat USC in the de-fact home game for the conference championship

>% of Teams 6-6 or Better in the "Power Five"

Pac 12 10-12 83%
SEC 10-14 71%
ACC 9-14 64%
Big 12 6-10 60%
Big 10 8-14 57%
>>
I mean how do you not put the best team from the best conference in the playoff?
>>
No way

Undefeated Clemson obviously have to be in
Alabama with a loss in week 3 to a good Ole Miss team, and SEC champ has to be in
Big 10 champ, either undefeated Iowa or 1 Loss MSU has to be in

That leaves 2 loss Stanford trying to get in the last spot vs OU who's only loss is like week 5 in a rivalry game by one TD

Maybe if USC was ranked top 10 then you could make the case but there's really no way Stanford beats an unranked USC team and jumps the Big XII champ

The Big 12 is shit this year
>>
>>63874045
>SEC champ has to be in
not if it's Florida
>>

The thing to consider is that assuming Stanford wins out, their only losses would have been to ranked teams, they would have more wins over ranked teams, and they would have one extra game in the conference championship (to another probably ranked team since USC will be in the high 20s next week).
Oklahoma played no championship game and lost to an awful, awful Texas. And even though you can't use transitive property, it'll be a consideration that ND blew out that same Texas team and then was beaten by Stanford.

IMO, assuming Stanford, Alabama and Clemson win out it's going to be Clemson, Alabama, Iowa/MSU, and Stanford in the playoffs with Oklahoma just missing out. Ohio State is also not in the worst position to jump OU, but very unlikely.

2 loss Florida would have as good of wins as Stanford and better losses
>>

Florida is not going to be treated very well by the play-off committee. They're going to drop to mid-low teens. You don't follow up a shit show vs an FCS school with a loss where you look like garbage. Even if they beat Alabama they wont sniff the top 4 and they don't deserve to.
>>
>>63874681
The committee really likes OU. No way in hell they get jumped with a win over USC. If stanford wants in, Bama has to lose.
>>

You seem dilusional. Oklahoma just won the big 12 and crushed okst, who were ranked very highly throughout the season. Assuming that Bama, Clemson, and Stanford win out, it's going to be them, either MSU or Iowa and Oklahoma. There is reason for Stanford to get placed above any of those teams. Grasping for straws like "ranked team wins" "OK lost to texas" doesn't mean anything given the current state of the CFP.

Personally, I think the CFP should be expanded because there are so many good teams, but you really need to realize that Stanford has a 0% chance of going if Bama and Clemson win out. Sorry you attend Stanford and are going to miss it.

Committee won't leave out a one-loss Big 12 champ again. Alabama has to take a dump vs. Florida and Ohio State has to be incinerated in an unfortunate nuclear incident for Stanford to make the playoffs.

>possible, but unlikely
>>
>>63878788
>ohio state
>not Mich State
typo?
>>
>>63873867
because they lost twice
somewhere along the way, losing became less important than statistics, and I don't like it
there's no way a 2 loss team should jump an undefeated/1 loss power 5 team
oh, and OP's point of the >6-6 or better teams?
great point bro, lots of mediocre teams who beat up on each other means that the winner of the conference must be ELITE
get the fuck out of here with that
>>
8 team playoff when
>>
Hard to believe OU will be jumped after just being ranked #3 and then slaughtering OK st. Clemson is a lock if they win, if UNC wins Stanford will probably get in over them, same if the Gators beat Bama. The winner of the big 10 is a lock
>>
>>63879139
not soon enough
>>
>>63878947
No typo. Two big ten teams would make it in before Stanford. Ohio State has only lost to Michigan State, and if Alabama shits the bed in the championship against a UF team that just lost to Florida State, since Notre Dame just lost, two B10 teams are going in.
