It's the second day of darts from Butlins Minehead as the Players Championship Finals enters the last 16 stage. Yesterday was filled with surprises as the likes of Terry Jenkins, Robert Thornton, Jelle Klaasen and Stephen Bunting were dumped out by lower-ranked opposition. The biggest defeat of them all, however, wasn't actually a surprise.
With a last leg loss to Gary Anderson in their first ever first round meeting in a major, Phil Taylor will end 2015 holding the World Cup and nothing else. It genuinely and truly appears to be the end of TAYLORWINSLOL no matter how hard the PDC attempt to spin it otherwise.
Assuming the standard of play is much better than yesterday's poor displays, the highlights today include Big Mensur's latest attempt to defeat Blubber Boy, Alan Norris takes on Snackpot, the living branch of Wickes faces off against the muscleman that is Gerwyn Price, a "Scottish" clown takes on an Australian pisshead and a battle of the bald Dutch speedsters as MVG takes on VvdV.

And that D2 ends a day of shocks at the tournament that always seems to have a surprise up its sleeve.
Three of the remaining top eight seeds were eliminated in mostly dominant fashion; during the afternoon session, Blubber Boy flunked under the pressure and once again proved he has the worst mental strength of any player in the top eight of the world as Mensur Suljovic took him apart, while Big Benito outshone Wadey with a fabulous performance of scoring and finishing that the bipolar one couldn't match. Could this be the breakthrough for the young Dutchman?
This evening saw the two bigger shocks of the tournament as the Clown choked an 8-4 lead to lose 10-9 to one of the biggest bottlers in the sport in Simon Whitlock. Given what happened last week in Glasgow with his implosion against MVG, Wright's mental strength is still not strong enough to make him a contender for any title.
However, the following match saw one of the most pathetic and embarrassing surrenders of any PDC title in a very long time. Daryl Gurney, ranked outside the Top 50 before the weekend's play, completely outclassed a Gary Anderson who averaged just 86 and only finished 21% of his double attempts. At no point in the match did the World Champion even try to compete with the Ulsterman and roundly and deservedly got defeated. With just one title won this year, and that was the non-ranking Premier League, it has become the Scotsman doesn't care about playing any more and is just in it for the money. This could be the start of a very sad demise for a once well-loved player.
