What Bradyfags ALWAYS seem to gloss over is the fact Montana had beastly stats in an era when the game DID NOT favor the QB. It wasn't a pass happy league back then and yet Montana was torching defenses with his arm.

Brady would be a fuccboi if he played during Montana's time. Also, Montana is undefeated in superbowl appearances with the same amount of rings. He also didn't lose to a tard. TWICE.

Montana is the GOAT. Its not even a discussion.
>>
Brady didn't have roided up Rice tho senpai
>>
How would Brady have done against the '75 Steelers?
>>
>>63792831

Probably just as well - the reality is there is more parity and more true athletes than in the 70s/80s/and even early to mid 90s.

Yeah when Montana lost 49-3 in the divisional round, that was a way better showing than when Brady lost in the Super bowl.

montana lost to the giants in the playoffs twice too. he got btfo by the 86 super bowl team and lost by a point to the shitty 91 super bowl team

>>
>>63793546
Okay? Brady reads defenses before the snap better than anyone. But this is before CB's weren't allowed to bump receivers after 5 yards, so routes were always being improvised. Brady is only average at improvising once his reads fall through. He gives up on the play and throws it away.

What team does Brady play for after the Patriots boot him?
>>
>>63793715

I never noticed how well the Patriots defense reacted to this situation. The Colts aren't even sure what they're supposed to be doing but the Pats just shrug and get in to position. They weren't fooled or confused for a second. Look at the two formations right before the ball is snapped, the Patriots are perfectly placed and the Colts look like a mess. Perfectly executed defense.

None. He'll never not be a Patriot because 1) the Pats will never give him up and 2) he knows he'd be exposed

There is some confusion - a couple guys are lined up in no-man's land. If they executed the play properly (i.e. were in the shotgun and pitched it to the punter; calling a timeout and punting; committing sudoku) they might have been able to run straight behind the linemen for a first down.
>>
>>63793438
Matt Cassel can also go to the chiefs win 10 games and make a pro bowl.

Not even. Those guys aren't in no man's land they're lined up in a way that will make it impossible for the guy getting the ball to pass it as the center has 0 chance of blocking three guys. To expect your qb to get the ball stand up and throw before an unblocked lineman gets to him is insanity.

Aaron is too confused to lead a team effectively. The only year he was good is when he was a foot out of the closet with Kevin. Then, with all the exposure, he became a 'manly' man and gained a beard. Now he sucks.

Hard to win games when you're too busy not imagining what the Center's asshole tastes like.

Bigger, faster athletes now than there were 20-30 years ago. Salary cap restrictions make it harder to keep a team together in the modern age. Parity aside from the Patriots is much more solid today than it was back then. The fact is you use the veil of history in an attempt to defame the true GOAT. If Montana played against guys like Revis, Sherman and the like in coverage his stats wouldn't be even close to what they are.

If you want a true comparison of eras you're going to lose the argument every time. Secondary play was far more hard-nosed back then but coverage is tighter now than it's ever been. Sorry bruv'nor.
>>
>>63794698

Montana won two bowls with a undrafted wr and a qb turned wr
He won his third with a young rice who was still getting to his prime and more late round rookies

i dont think the patriots offense has a single guy drafted in the 1st round this season (counting injured guys)
>>
>>63800147
They probably don't but every year he's won a bowl they're were stacked either offensively or defensively
Billy figured out a way to bring in people that'll work well in his system similar to the old raiders take on free angency back in the late 70s to mid 80s.

One side will always be stacked than the other and this year it is offense again

Montana never had that privilege and worked with what he got

Shit in his first superbowl his team was freaking out and managed to calm them down
The divisional round I believe in his second bowl year , his team was freaking out again down by 7 and Montana pointed out a celebrity in the crowd , talking about how nice it would be to meet him . Again Montana is a leader on the field

You have the most stacked team in the history of the NFL and choke your chance at being the GOAT to a retard ? Brady will never be considered the best QB after that .

>If he wasn't heem sleepy'ed out of a career he would have won at least 6

coulda woulda shoulda. Players are judged on what they've accomplished, not by what-if scenarios. example:

>What if the Patriots won SB42?
yeah Tom would already be GOAT even if he did lose SB46. But they didn't, and he isn't, by himself, the GOAT, by that metric alone.

>>63800379
these are always "best QB" not "best player" discussions. Rice in the mix for "GOAT player, period" status, but that's another debate.
>>
Brady achieved more because of the salary cap.
>>
>>63800561
>salary cap
the 49ers knowingly fucked around with the salary cap illegally multiple times.

If you mean raw passing numbers, Brady did more because 5-7 years into his career the league went full-on Madden-mode with passing rules. His numbers spiked once he had the second-greatest WR in history and another elite WR in Welker, which allowed him to dominate the league so hard in 2007. And since then, despite the 1-2 SB record, the Pats have been the marquee team of the AFC. THAT is Tom's real value.

tl;dr

Montana
>was injured a third of the time
>had a go-to über-elite target nearly his entire career in SF

Brady
>had free-for-all passing rules for a little more than half his career
>only had (good) Randy Moss for 2-3 years, and otherwise has had three elite targets for shorter periods of time than Montana-Rice (prime Welker, Gronk, and Hernandez. include Edelgod if you want)

GIVEN THE RULES OF THE TIME THEY PLAYED IN, who is better?
