Isn't it crazy how there's only around 10 to 15 men in the entire world that are currently basically a good quarterback?

15 fucking guys in the world are good at QB in the pros. That's crazy rare.
>>
>>63759374
I'm Brady level but no one will ever discover me

>>63759433
>black qbs
>>
If the whole world played handegg which country would have the best QB? I bet Germany
>>
more like those 15 or so guys aren't so much good as outstanding, so much so that over the years our expectations for QBs have risen and become unrealistic, and the rules of the game have even changed to make the position even more important

Germany does play handegg though and they are shit.
>>
>>63759374
The ones who you're saying aren't good QBs are still extremely good QBs, and would dominate any other league including college. Hell even 2nd or 3rd string QBs would.

The difference between the best and worst QB in the league is a lot smaller than you think
>>
>>63759526
This is true. Europeans play basketball too. Nobody is stopping them from playing football. German teams used to win the European league.
>>
>>63759533
If the difference is that small the top 10 QBs wouldn't be so consistent and we'd see QBs coming out of nowhere like in baseball to win the CY Young.
>>
>>63759505
don't know why but i feel like England would have the best
>>
>>63759547
>scandy countries
lol no

Probably the countries that are currently good at rugby ?
>>
>>63759574
>the countries that are currently good at rugby
New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and South Africa

Europeans suck at it
>>
>>63759572
>don't know why but i feel like England would have the best

And they would find a way to lose in the group stages if there was an international competition.
>>
>>63759555
except unlike baseball, football teams don't play 3000 games a season, so it's a much bigger risk to give untested qbs a shot
>>
>15 guys in the world are the best

this is assuming the world gives a shit about this sport, which it does not.

Saying there's only 15 guys in America that are good QB's is more accurate.
>>
>>63759555
Thats comparing apples to oranges. american football isnt as popular internationally as baseball, football teams need like 90% less QBs than baseball teams need pitchers, also most starting pitchers are really only lights out for a year or two.
>>
>>63759649
>Canada doesn't play football
>>
>>63759547

There is no rugby equivalent. The closest is scrum half but it's nothing like playing qb. All passes are backwards and 99% of them are less than 10 yards.

>>63759526

That's like saying the US plays gaelic football. Yes you do have teams.
>>
I think the Big Strong Aussies are the closest to our greatness and heart as competitors. They'd probably.make the best QBs if they cared.

But they got their own murdersport, so we'll never know for sure.

England mite b gud too also 2bh families. QB is a kind of Royal position mixed with tough cowboyesque gunslinging. They got the Royal part.
>>
>>63759729

I wonder do they have something similar to the slave gene. Only the toughest cunts survived the crazy ass boat trip down there. Then only the toughest of the toughest cunts survived adapting to that deathtrap. Now they are practically superhumans like the ancestors of the GOAT slaves.
>>
>>63759374
>world

yea im pretty sure if the whole world actually played it youd get more than 10. you cant even get the whole country to play it let alone the world
>>
>>63759927
>the world can compete with the offspring of generations of chain slaves and white men

Who's going to beat white Americans and black Americans ? Manlet chinese guys? manlet Indians? Manlet Arabs? Manlet Hispanics? Skinny as fuck Africans who could never take a hit?

Literally only Samoans, black Americans, and whites can play in the NFL.
>>
>>63759863
Slave positions are RB and WR. The QB is a cerebral role, like a chessmaster, but they also need to have vision, good decision making and quick reflexes.

They call it gunslinging because of the need to whip the ball out like a quick-draw at a moments notice.

I don't think Australia would be good cause of any physical reason. (Though toughness is a factor) I just respect their people and country.
>>
>>63759717
canada doesnt play football. there are probably less than 50 schools in the entire country that plays a football team every year. most sports kids play hockey after school and during the summer at school its baseball teams and soccer teams. basketball is getting popular around the country as well. nfl has viewership here but football the sport literally has no room

There's Russian Americans in the USA
They're not dominating, Jews are chess masters too, they can't play sports.

Absolutely disgusting
>>
>>63760054
Now that I think about it... yeah. I got a Russian friend who is obsessed with football. Plus the QB position is all about chess. Common knowledge for serious fans. Kind of hidden from casuals.

>watching 4-5 "pieces" run their unique routes and interact with the defense (basically pawns)
>>
>>63759374
No because only the USA plays the sport seriously (more or less). QB is a specialist position and to be an above average NFL QB requires you to have played that position since childhood, which almost nobody outside of the States does.
>>
>>63760110
QB is an incredibly physical and mental position though
The best QB's have incredible reaction times, arm strength and can take hits from 300lb D linemen
Not to mention meme QBs who can run the ball, Cam Newton is an athletic freak of nature. Sure, you have to be intelligent, but you also have to be athletic and take hits. This is why there are only like 15 "good" QBs
>>
>>63760251
Not necessarily senpai. Sure it's specialist, but it's not difficult. It's as easy as learning to whip the ball while playing catch w m8s.

There are important skills related to the position you can learn just by being emotionally and intellectually invested in the game. Like footwork to keep people rushing you behind the dudes blocking for you. And doing this while keeping your eyes down the field. Or escape footwork to spin away from pursuit.

It's difficult, but nowhere near the level of fucking soccer.

We could see some serious foreign QB talent at any time.
>>
>>63760309
No way senpai. The best QBs avoid the hits. Cam is an exception. Even the old 'running' QBs like Elway and Steve Young werent nigga strong. They were just athletic enough to survive.
>>
>>63760324
Oh, and the REASON there are only like 10 """""elite""""" QBs is because using all the skills at once is like some Neo-level "The One" Matrix-focus shit. Not because any of it is hard to do by itself.
>>
>>63760324
Yes I agree that it could be learned by anyone with potential, but for example, I live in England and I played youth American Football for a 2 years. It was of the lowest standard, but so was the whole league, including the senior teams. There were a few decent guys in the senior London teams, but none at QB. That's because there are no grassroots football programs, there were about 30 youths teams in the whole UK and these kids are learning the position for the first time at the earliest age of 16.
>>
>>63760481
>but none at QB
Who the hell played QB then?
>>
>>63760514
There were still QBs, no good ones. Not one single guy who could pass with any consistency or read the game at all. Just athletic guys or someone with a big arm. The youth league was ages 16-19, but every starter in the league was at least 18 and more physically developed. My team was pretty poor and our QB was the worst position by far, so the coaches ended up putting some 16 boy in because he could throw bombs, but that's it.

Yeah that blows. The thought of starting at 16 is crazy.

Yall niggas need to at least play catch as a nation as kids. I bet you guys haven't even heard of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/500_(ball_game)

>>63759574
Rugby skills wouldn't translate to the QB position in the NFL I always imagined a couple of international flankers being good at DE

>>63760691
Yeah it's a shame, I never played the sport (other than messing around with mates) until 16. I gave it up once I hit 19.

There are so many sports prioritised above American football in the UK, which is one of the reasons why the standard is low. All of the gifted athletes play football, rugby etc. and many American sports are played by guys who can't into teams of other sports. That's good though in a way as it gives others a chance to play something rather than never getting to play competitive sport. I was never quite good enough at football (soccer) to play at a reasonable level, I quit rugby as a kid so American football gave me something.
