I always thought they were an excellent team with no real superstar players(especially after Suarez left) but enough quality as a collective to shine.
Unfortunately Rodgers just wasn't experienced enough to get the best out of them and the team just spiralled downwards.
Under Klopp the mood has completely changed and they're working really well again.
This probably would have occurred under any new manager shifting things up a bit but having Klopp adds a whole different dimension, I don't think they're elite now, but I could see them becoming so in a very short space of time.

AS amazing as that performance was, Klopp has always been great at hyping up the underdog team and killing bigger teams. The true test of how good he will be for Liverpool comes against teams smaller than Liverpool. After the Crystal Palance performance I wouldn't be too sure.
Klopp is about getting the best out of players, and coaching them to be confident and play to the best of their ability.
Rodgers is about playing 100 different systems and formations until you find one that works, then tossing players all over the pitch whilst they flop because they aren't in the right position. Go on a great 10 game run, then opponents figure out how to play against that system. So spend next 2 months finding a new system.
Rodgers constantly sucking media dick, blaming his own players, not giving "transfer committee" signings a proper go whilst players like Allen got tons, it was fucking embarrassing.
