>The year is 1998
>A time traveler tells the Colts that Payton Manning will win only 1 ring but in a few years Tom Brady will be available and he will win 4 rings.

Who do the Colts pick?
>>
>>63628218
Brady wasnt even eledgible to be drafted
>>
Brady wouldn't win those rings with the Colts.

Not a sure thing.
>>
Brady one 4 rings playing with literal who's most of the time.
The one time he gets some real talent he goes undefeated in the regular season and rewrites the record books and only lost the Super Bowl because of a miracle helmet catch.

Manning has had elite talent all around him and has choked more times than I can count.

Manning is overrated as fuck
>>
>>63628266
>Lucky helmet catch
>Implying Brady didn't get dominated all game
>>
>>63628266
>only lost the Super Bowl because of a miracle helmet catch

Pretty sure he lost because his record breaking offense put up 14 points.
>>
>>63628249

Brady literally is the reason the Colts didn't win more super bowls. If they have Brady, nobody would have stopped them
>>
>>63628266
>a miracle helmet catch.
fuck that catch. the real miracle was eli dodging all those bullets before it
>>
>>63628218
Brady would have zero success even with the pro bowlers because the coaching for the Clots suck.

Manning in the bealicheat system on the other hand would create an actual dynasty.
>>
>>63628433

Manning's choke ability would have trumped Belichick's coaching
>>
>>63628373
Again, there's a high probability the clots fuck up Brady's development.

Peyton putting up great numbers and getting 12 wins a year clearly masked alot of the dumb shit that franchise has done. This much is obvious now.
>>
>>63628249
>le peyton's colts had shit rosters meme
Colts had teams that were stacked top to bottom on both, offense and defense. They had a top 10 defense almost every year in the 05-10 seasons.

>>63628386
>the real miracle was eli dodging all those bullets before it
That wasn't a miracle, just 3 missed holding calls on the Giants O-line
>>
>>63628460
Cheating would find a way to stop that. They'd also have Goddell cover everything up this time around because Manning is able to come off as likeable.

>>63628475
Shall we go over all the holding calls the Patriots get away with their big drives. Cue that Saints pic.
>>
Brady would not have been able to do shit on a Clots team that presumably would have been shitting the best for 2 extra years waiting for him.

Pure foolishness to think you can just 'swap qbs'. Brady had basically the perfect setup to go where he is now. Fucking that up would have had his career come out different.

A lot of things have to go right for the both QBs to end up where they did. You're not taking Brady out of Michigan and just slapping him on any team and think 4 SBs is a given.
>>
>>63628266
What about the second time around when they lost to an even worse Giants team?
>>
>>63628460
This tee bee ayech eff aye emm
>>
>>63628518
The difference is that the Colts teams were great too just like the Patriots teams (arguably better). The QB play in the playoffs was the consistent weak link until the defense got old.

it wouldn't be slapping Brady on any team. It would be slapping him on the other most dominant team of the era.
>>
>>63628791
You're still assuming too many things stay the same. Its moronic.

There's a high chance Brady doesn't get to turn out like Brady with another team/coaching staff/system. And thats not saying he's a system babby, its just how football works.
>>
>>63628854
Watching Brady in college, he had all he has now. A quick release, good short and mid accuracy and an ability to win late in games. It's not like the Colts didn't have good offensive schemes centered around those attributes at the time.
>>
>>63628854
Brady didn't exactly sit on the bench and mature forever under the coaching staff and starter like Aaron Rodgers.

There is someone's career who would be way different if they went to any other team.
>>
>draft Peyton
>draft Brady in the fifth round before the Patriots grab him in the sixth
The best of both worlds
>>
>>63628985
No, but he got put on a decent team with an already good defense that wasn't completely shit. Yeah they had a bad 2000 but before that they were always a playoff level team.

The Colts were fucking garbage for a much longer stretch at the time. Even those early Colts teams that had good records with Peyton had holds. They didn't really have a SB level team until Brady had already gotten some rings. THATS when Peyton choking was a thing.

Its not like Brady was tearing shit up his first years. He was just decent and delivered when it mattered. He would never gotten to do that in Indy. They were drafting a saviour.
>>
>The Year is 1998
>A time traveler tells the Chargers that Ryan Leaf will have 14 TD, 36 INT for his entire career and have 2 felonies before Manning's career is over.
Who do the Chargers pick?
>>
>>63628218

What the Colts would/should do.

Draft Peyton Manning in 1998.

Draft Brady in 2000.

Trade Manning in 2001 3-4 first rounders.

Name Brady your starter from then on.

You would win 5+ SBs.

BB gets to the Pats and after 4-5 unsuccessful years cause his QB sucks get fired and bounces around.. Pats never become a threat.

Only consistent challenger the Colts have is the Steelers who Brady has always owned.

Those extra picks used to build a top tier D.

It be the most powerful dynasty of all time.
>>
>>63629176
Randy Moss or Charles Woodson. I don't remember any other good QBs coming from that draft
>>
why does no one realize that the Colts are inept and people didn't see it because they were lucky enough to get 2 franchise quarterbacks in a row?
>>
>>63628218
Colts, if I had access to a time machine:
Round 1: Trade down, get Randy Moss
Round 2: Ahman Green
Round 3: Hines Ward [drafted 92nd]
Round 4: Steve McKinney [same pick]
Round 5: Matt Hasselbeck [6th round irl]
>>
>>63629438
>2 potentially GOAT QBs available
>Colts trade down for a WR
people without the time machine access would lose their shit over this
>>
>>63629483
yeah, it'd be an absolute shitshow, but it's not like anyone respected the Colts anyways
>>
>>63629100
>Its not like Brady was tearing shit up his first years. He was just decent and delivered when it mattered
That's because Brady was carried by Refball, Vinitari, defense and cheating.

This.

Its all coming to light now. Peyton and Luck (at least up until this year) were keeping people employed.

Watch this clip, and tell me between the seconds of 15-20 you did not see at least 1 hold, what happened happened, its too late, game's over, but yes, I am still salty.
