The NBA champions call themselves World champions too even though there is a competitive basketball league in Europe many people watch.
They should have a game between the Euroleague champions and the NBA champions. Even if the Euroleague team only has a small chance to win it could be the same as in football where there is a Club World Cup. European teams tend to win them but sometimes there is an upset, but this holds a claim as being somewhat the legitimate World champion for the team that wins it.
