I just can't play this game. I have no idea what to do or how to get better. Every team I play seems to be able to get players to move faster than mine, split open defences and shit.
I really don't know what to do. I have a basically full Spanish team and it sucks. Only choice is to put my best players and suffer a chem negative cause I don't know what else to do.

You must learn the three basic tenets of FIFA 16: pressing, pace and momentum
- Use a tactic that has 100 aggression, keep '2nd Defender Press' held down at all times and sprint mercilessly at whoever has the ball. Since stamina is meaningless in this game (players can pull their hamstring 2 or 3 times in a match and still press high for 90 minutes), feel free to just hold down sprint and 2DP at all times.
- Centre halves must be at least 75 pace. Wide players and strikers must be at least 90 pace. Central players must be at least 80 pace. Pace is the most important stat on the card. If you have good pace, you can literally sprint the ball from kick off into the opposition's net. And only with this crucial tool will you be able to keep up your blitzkrieg for 90 minutes.
- Momentum - what do I mean by this? Well, you see, the most powerful move in FIFA isn't actually mentioned in any of the manuals or button guides. I don't know what the Xbox equivalent is, but on PS4 all you have to do is push Right Stick in the direction you're sprinting and your player will be able to run through every tackle, INSTANTLY tackle the ball back off a defender, win headers that you have no right to win, or outright foul opposition players without incurring a foul. Don't even think about pressing stand or slide tackle - just run at the ball carrier with one of your athletes (remember the pace that we covered in the first section?) and hold right stick and you will surely send them flying regardless of their size or strength.

There's a button that calls another defender over to pressure. In past FIFAs this second defender would make tackles but now all he does is stand suffocatingly close to your ball carrier so that you can't move in any direction without walking into an opposition player. Combine this with a high Aggression tactic to constantly surround your opponent with 3 or 4 defenders. Please consult your control settings to find your 2nd Defender Press button.

Tackling stats are meaningless. Interceptions are dead after the latest patch. Don't even expect to intercept the ball in midfield unless they actually physically run into you. Sprint + Right stick is your tackle button now.
As for attacking, make sure you through ball it up the wing as soon as possible and then continue to mindlessly through ball it forwards - don't worry, even though it looks like there's nobody to get on the end of it, the cutting edge Off The Ball AI™ of FIFA 16 will make sure that one of your athletes will get into the channel to collect the ball. From there it's simply a case of pacing it into the box and waiting for one of their defenders to foul you (82% of goals in FIFA 16 come from penalties)

I think what killed the game was simple: Price Ranges. EA introduced them into 15 super late in the game to try and curb the coin buying/coin sellers and everyone groaned at how dumb of an idea it was. Then, before 16 was released, they talked about better price ranges and how all players would be affordable through consistent playing/trading and no one would be "too expensive". How the fuck do I get better at this fucking game? I have been at the same mediocre level, right around .500 online for the past 4 years of playing it. This year is even harder because it's impossible to score goals from crosses or corners, which were about 1/3 of my game before.
