What are some all time "what if?" careers ruined by injuries. As in players who if it weren't for injuries had potential to be first ballot hall of famer, legendary type players? Any sport, I only really know basketball.
>Grant Hill
>Tracy McGrady
>Petrovic/Bias (if death counts)
>Greg Oden
>Yao Ming
>Andrew Bynum (fringe hall of famer potential, very young when career ruined and was challenging dwight howard for best center in league status for a while, the 10pt,10reb,10blk game)
The Boz
Griffey Jr for sure.
It's depressing to think about desu theres a fucking shit ton
>>63518731
Sorry actually, he'll be in the HoF 1st round next year but injuries had stopped him from being a GOAT candidate. Didn't read op fully
Ben Wilson
Bias was a bust in the making even if he didn't OD.

>mfw watching the Once Brothers 30 for 30 special
Bias had insane potential could of gone down as the GOAT.
Petrovic was just starting to be a premier player he could of gone down as one the best shooters to ever play.

Petrovic could easily have surpassed Reggie Miller. Don't forget he was a pretty good passer and high iq player, could run an offense as a prototype combo guard like Curry or Harden. He was awesome in transition, his skillset would translate well to the modern NBA. He'd be a max player.
Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving
they're already finished desu senpai
>>63518724
but his pro career wasn't even that great before his injury.
Bo Jackson by far
>ctrl f: sterling sharpe

>Ctrl+f

>>63518772
would've been Sixth Man on the defending champs
Jamal Mashburn
don majkowski
Not even a Bengals fan, but they would've won a Super Bowl by now if this never happened
>>63518658
Ricky Williams if weed counts as a injury dude was GOAT
>>63519089
dirty fucking hit
>>63519089
>>63519006
He would have been considered like that if he had played in his prime in the NBA, we really only ever got to see a broken down shadow of the player he was in America, even so his talent was quite impressive
Cooper Manning.
>>63519006
Based Sab, fuck the cold war
>>63519125
>never get to see prime Drexler and prime Sabonis together
>>63519089
The funny part is Steelers fans call Burfict's tackle dirty this year. Pot calling the kettle black.
Steelers ruined the Bengals for years. Carson never recovered from that injury. Not mentally. Now he's pretty good, but that might help playing in a new division.

Man this one's tough for me personally, I still remember the news reel

Chipper Jones. Just take away a few injuries and he could have been a 500 HR and 3000 Hits player. Plus with his .300+ career average he would have joined Hank Arron and Willie Mays as the only ones to have .300 BA, 500 HR and 3000 Hits.

Bo Jackson was a fucking monster. God Raiders would of won a super bowl in the 90's if he didn't go down.
In all seriousness Michael Jordan. What if he hadn't retired? 8peat?

shaws little buddy thats about it.

Who is Kobe Bryant
I'm not going to say "ruined" but if Dwayne Wade didn't have his whole career plagued by injuries he'd be the best player of the modern era after Kobe and Tim Duncan.

Robert Griffin III
Daniel Sturridge
If Bird didnt get injured he would have at least 4 or 5 chips easily. And if Garnett didnt get hurt the Celtics would've repeated, and probably one more as well. And dont forget about Jordanstopper Reggie Lewis, and Bias
