The big thing was that "scripting" seems to be a lot more blatant in Ultimate Team this year which turned a lot of the people here away from it, and seeing how the threads were 75% Ultimate Team, 20% Club Drama, and 5% shit posting (on a good day meaning low shit posting) the threads were unable to survive without the activity plus the threads getting page 10'd during the World Series sort of put the nail in the coffin.

Guys. Need help. Bought FIFA for first time since 98 for Ultimate Team. Bought some packs, got a meh team (77 over all and 88 chem) but I suck.
Played 3 online matches, one guy quit after 30 secs, drew the next, lost 3rd 3-0. I have no idea to git gud. But I believe there is a training option somewhere?
But, should I do that or do the single player Ultimate Team thing so I can get coins and shit?

Play a decent formation with a couple of tall CDM or CM. Make sure you have 100 chem as it does make a big difference. Pacey wingers in a 433 of some description with a striker with decent heading.

Do the skills games. I know its boring and you want to get into the game and play, but they help more than you think. Once you master those, play AI at world class to solidify what you learned.

Online gameplay is almost always different from Offline. I would recommend you play Online Seasons (mostly beginner opponents imo) so you don't waste fucking contracts and stamina on UT learning to play the game.
Skill games can help but I guess real practice is much better. At least try to git gud at free kicks because at least in 15 they are easy.
It should be basic knowledge but learn the buttons too. When defending, R1/RB for e.g. calls a second player to help you take the ball.

Okay thanks. I know playing Online is going to be the best option in the end to learn, but I feel like I didn't have the basics. I mean, I just couldn't find a way to get the ball in shooting range enough and when I did, it was saved.
