To be clear I'm not defending Hardy, but worst case what he did, according to the DAs and the first judge, deserved 60 days suspended sentence. He was kicked off his team and reportedly had a multi-million dollar settlement with the alleged victim. Suspended all last season and 4 games this season.
It's just not the NFL's job to handle this shit, and unless you think everybody who ever gets convicted or even accused of a violent crime should be unemployed for life, why the fuck should he never get to play in the NFL again?

The author is known to do some race-baiting. What I find most interesting is the fact that the author behind the Greg Hardy piece wrote a Hope Solo piece that was basically the exact opposite: Fans and the media shouldn't play judge and jury; If she gets jail time then that should keep her out of the game, but if not then why should the soccer team take justice into their own hands? Leave it to the police and courts, soccer should just be about soccer.
And now she completely reverses that and thinks fans and the media are the best court system and that the NFL should ban the guy for life for off-field conduct not resulting in a conviction (or at least, the conviction was over-turned), even though the original sentence didn't even include jailtime
