>already won a ring after deflategate, a federal judge called it a joke

>tuck rule happened to the Patriots earlier in the 2001 season

>spygate filming 15 feet from where they were supposed too

thanks for the bump hehe
>>
>>63364600
Why do people act like the Tuck Rule was some shit made up on the spot by the refs to help the Patriots? It was a legitimate rule that was in place since the late 90s and it even cost the Patriots a game during that season
>>
>>63364656
because this board is full of children that started watching the NFL is 2009
>>
>>63364600
>Vinatieri
Fucking what? Are you saying that that win doesn't count because they won it with a field goal or something?
>>
>>63364600
I'd fucking except most decent kickers to hit a <50 yarder in a dome regardless of whether or not it's the last play
>>
>>63364694
this
>>
>>63364656
Because it was an awful rule that has since been eliminated because it was incredibly difficult to interpret. It was one of those judgement call things, did you think he was tucking the ball? ffs tbqh familia smfh
>>
>>63365876
That call went against the Patriots, did you think it should have been called differently than what the rule stated?

People like to say it came out of no where, but thats just bullshit
>>
this desu senpai
>>
>>63364635
>federal judge called it a joke
He did nothing of the sort.

>tuck rule happened to the Patriots earlier in the 2001 season
It was a playoff game. They lose that game, no Bowl.

>spygate filming 15 feet from where they were supposed too
Supporting breaking the rules, nice.
>>
>>63369409
so you agree

>>
after this past super bowl
>>
Goodell lost ahahahaah
>>
those fucking hick manning fags oh am i laffin
>>
>>63365876
That's the opposite of what the rule was. The rule was to prevent judgement calls for when the ball comes loose when the quarterback's arm is moving forward. They didn't want refs to have to judge whether it was a forward pass or whether the quarterback was pump-faking and lost control of the ball. It was a necessary rule before instant replay provided more clarity.
>>
>>63364597
All those butthurt packer and colts fans
>>
>>63364600

Not really fair to credit that whole title to Vinatieri, Brady was a way more important player on that team. Deflategate and Spygate were both cases of "Everyone is doing it, but let's punish the Patriots". The Tuck Rule was fucking stupid, though.
>>
Tuck Rule lol, that rule went against the Patriots before it ever helped them out

people on here think it came out of no where
>>
>>63373436
Fine, please post the exact quote of the judge calling it a "joke." The judge's ruling had nothing to do with whether or not the Patriots cheated, it was entirely related to Goodell's right to levy the punishment he did per the collective bargaining agreement.
>>
>>63386204
He called the investigation and appeal "fundmentally unfair" and he mocked the NFL for claiming their investigation was independent
>>
>>63386246
this
>>
>>63386246
He said that the arbitration hearing was fundamentally unfair, which has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not Brady and the Pats cheated. It's exactly as I said, Goodell didn't follow due process in his punishment. The judge was ruling on the punishment, not the actions of Brady.
>>
>>63388040
he went after the wells report, ESPN was wrong
>>
>circumstantial evidence acquitted by judge
>filmed on the sideline instead of the box oops how bad
>doesn't make it less legitimate
>legitimate NFL rule

iggles fan/10
>>
>>63364597
He hasn't won a championship that hasn't been tainted by cheating, so he isn't even close to GOAT
>>
>>63364597
I can understand Wisconsin and Indiana being in denial due to Rodgers/Peyton delusion, but why is South Dakota so butthurt?
>>
>>63364656
Because it was a rule that was mostly a judgement call and the same call could change from ref to ref. During a regular season game it's fine but a playoff game in a critical moment the refs really should have erred on the side of caution and decided not to influence the outcome of the game too much.
>>
>>63389303
so you wanted them to call the rule incorrectly?

refs don't do that, just ask dez bryant

nothing new here
>>
>>63389303
No it wasn't a judgement call, the rule states if the ball is moving forward it's an incomplete pass, they called it correctly under the rule.
>>
>>63364597
Let me guess, Clots still think Luck is #1?

>>
>>63392304
Eli was not responsible for the Giants winning, it was because they had an excellent pass rush. The only way to beat Brady is to get pressure rushing 4, everyone knows that. But it took an extreme amount of obscure circumstances for that 2007 GIants win. Asante Samuel dropping a sure INT, the refs keeping their flags in their pocket as Eli did that crazy move escaping the pocket, and obviously the Tyree catch at the end of the play.

>being this mad
>writing a novel that no one on here will read
lmao, what's it like being that salty?
>>
>>63392581
Why would I be mad? It was 8 years ago. And often times a superbowl comes down to one "freak" play. The Pats dont win last year without the Butler INT.
>>
>>63392618
>write a novel
>w-why would I be mad?
Because you keep trying to justify their loss. They lost, if you weren't mad, you'd stop trying to convince everyone else why they lost.
>>
>>63392721
If you go back to my original post, the point was that Brady is the GOAT, even though he lost in the superbowl twice. He's been to the bowl 6 times, no other QB has done that.
>>
>>63392980
He also has the most controversy surrounding his SB wins and appearances. That def needs to be added to his list achievements.

He is great I wont deny that, but in an NFL that has catered to QBs, offense and even Brady himself, I wont call him the goat
>>
>>63393127
but these controversies you speak have been completely concocted by the media. Spygate happened in a regular season game in 2007, and the rule changes regarding video taping were created in 2006. That doesn't nullify their victories in 2001, 2003, and 2004 in any way, shape, or form. And Deflategate is an even bigger joke, the NFL got destroyed in court.
>>
>>63393260
But the NFL gets slaughtered every single time they go into a courtroom, the only getting it worse lately is Goodell himself.
>>
>>63394828
Even Goodell won the case it's fairly obvious the balls deflated naturally.
>>
>>63395044
Deflated to Tom's own personal preference in air pressure.

Natural indeed.
>>
>>63395283
There's no evidence to suggest Brady liked the balls underinflated, there is however strong evidence to suggest balls deflate naturally in cold air
>>
>>63395345
There is also no evidence stating he doesn't like his footballs underinflated either. I mean other than his and the Patriots word.
>>
>>63395530
That and the thousands of texts and emails the NFL has from Brady, the equipment manager and ball boy.
>>
>>63395601
Bill plans his moves far ahead of time, you know that was premeditated.
>>
>>63395667
The Wells Report safely concluded Belichick and the coaching staff had no knowledge of ball tampering

You're floundering
>>
>>63395716
One of the most prepared and controlling head coaches ever, one who is praised for his ability make adjustments whenever it's needed. And he had no knowledge of the going ons on his sideline, or in his locker room, yeah I think not.
>>
>>63395777
He didn't know anything because there was nothing going on, it's pretty easy to conclude the balls deflated in the cold weather, basic science backs up that claim.
