Good for Wagner, guy has a good eye for talent and its a step up in his coaching career, though I wouldn't mind him replacing one of the many mediocre coaches in the youth national teams.

"Sources tell Goal USA that Morris hasn't committed to turning pro after this season, and he still has the Seattle Sounders waiting patiently to make him the highest-paid homegrown player in MLS history. The Sounders have already tabled an offer to the U.S. Under-23 national team standout but are still waiting on a final answer, which isn't likely to come before the end of the college season. Morris is believed to be favoring a deal with the Sounders this winter, while a move to Europe at this point seems unlikely."

Damn, looks like there's some truth to the rumor that Barca was looking at Giovinco. TFC turned them down.

I hope this doesn't dissuade other young DPs from coming to the league; if we routinely getting the way of their career advancement, we might not like the results.

USASA announcement:

The Madison 56ers just willingly went down a level from the NPSL's (admittedly crowded) Midwest Region (where they finished 1st or 3rd each of the past 10 seasons) to the Great Lakes Premier League (GLPL), formed last year by 3 new Michigan teams who got rejected by the NPSL, only for 2 of them to be accepted by the NPSL this year.

Something like that. He's probably a straight-up replacement for Neagle on the depth chart, and Neagle got something like 1500+ minutes this season. He'll be fine, particularly if we switch Dempsey to a winger like he's been in the playoffs.

I want to get into MLS (I usually just watch English and Spanish leagues) but can't decide on a team. Im from Vegas.
>>
>>63395128
Do you support any English or Spanish team in particular? Might want to see if they have an affiliated MLS club.

Or what pro teams do you cheer for in other U.S. sports leagues? Maybe try to be geographically consistent.

It's all basically a crapshoot since you're in Vegas anyways.
>>
>>63395121

Yeah, it's a great mix of soccer and hockey. Not the best quality of play, but a fun time nonetheless.

Got tickets in the supporter's section for the St. Louis Ambush's opener next Friday. If it's cool, I'll probably pick up season tickets - they're only a hundred bucks!

I support Everton and Atletico Madrid.

Well, Reno is getting a minor league team soon. If you're set on following an MLS side based on proximity then SJ Quakes or (future) Sac Republic would be the best bet
>>
>>63395277
Apparently Everton has a partnership with the USL's Pittsburgh Riverhounds, who announced in 2013 that they plan to join MLS by 2023.

If you can't wait, Tim Howard played for the MetroStars, who are now the New York Red Bulls (who just won the Supporters' Shield).

>>
>>63396077
Yeah, I think they'd sooner become an MLS Reserve team, but hey, they can dream
>>
>>63396077
You should always take these MLS expansion statements with a grain of salt. I still remember back in 2010 when St Louis was planning to join MLS by 2016. A year later the team folds. Also, Rochester Rhinos wanting to join MLS 10 years ago. Lower division teams will always give some crazy deadlines, but once you have a legitimate plan like Sacramento and Minnesota, its doesnt mean anything.
>>
>>63396198

The St. Louis expansion isn't so far fetched.

back in May 2015
>>
>>63395247
Yeah I used to play it.
Nothing's better than getting around a defender by bouncing the ball off a wall.
I also remember you could really beam that ball at keepers.
>>
>>63398807

Indoor is fucking awesome but I always got tired because it's so much faster than regular soccer. Wall passes are the shit tho...and bouncing it off the wall next to the goal so you can take the power shot on goal.
>>
>>63397400
I was talking about the AC St Louis expansion bid back in 2010. This plan you posted is more speculation to avoid the Rams from leaving St Louis and having a second tennant. No concrete plan in terms of ownership. I've seen these type of expansion plans for numerous cities like Phoenix and Charlotte that only see an MLS team as a secondary tennant and don't care about other aspects of the team (academy, training facilities, etc).

I will continue to hate my parents for making me born from here

why does garber have such a personal vendetta against the cosmos?
>>
>>63401183

Because fuck the cosmos. They killed soccer last time out, and they're trying to do it again. With a sane ownership group, the cosmos brand could have been a great addition to MLS. Instead they're a net drain on soccer in America.

>>
>>63408451
I want a team in Calgary to balance out the Canadian teams, but that will never ever happen.
>>
>>63402473
Never. There's either going to be a standalone Canadian league or a Canadian conference in NASL in a couple of years.
>>
>>63408575
I live in Calgary, there's been on-again off-again talk about getting a pro team but there's uncertainty with >>63409429 as far as whether or not Canada's going to get a standalone top flight or not.

It would probably be tied with the CFL, which probably means they're going to play in McMahon Stadium which will be absolute shit.
>>
>>63409521
A couple weeks ago you replied basically that same thing to me.

Its basically the only major population center left that could support a pro team though that isn't in frog country.
>>
>>63409588
If the expansion talk gains actual traction Calgary would absolutely be involved, it'd be retarded if it wasn't. I just feel like the setup of the league/conferene itself is being set up to fail within a few years. Edmonton used to play their NASL games out of their CFL stadium and it never made any sense, they spent years pushing to eventually get their own dedicated field, which I think is going to be essential for any participating teams for this idea to have any longevity to it. MLS is a stable fixture in the north american sports market specifically because there was an aggressive motion to get teams their own dedicated facilities, it would be a mistake for whatever gets set up in Canada to not learn from that.
