I think Notre Dame has a much better chance of getting in than Oklahoma does - and not just based on their current rankings. Ignoring what I think of the rosters/teams themselves, based on their remaining schedules Notre Dame has a much better chance of running the table than Oklahoma does. Before I start shitting on Okie Lite, let me first give them props and say that they legitimately have one of the best pass rushes in the nation. Now, 4 of their 5 conference wins (and coincidentally their only 4 competent opponents) needed miracles, fluke plays, or highly unlikely comebacks/implosions to happen. To their credit, they have been finding ways to win (even if a lot of those wins are lucky) and I will say that their comeback against TTU is all their doing and they should get credit for that. Now that being said, not in a single one of those 4 games did they really look better than any of their non-ranked opponents. If they can beat even one of the top 3 Big 12 teams I would say they deserve a higher spot, but honestly Oklahoma State hasn't really proved they belong any higher in my opinion. For very similar reasoning I also never had Toledo in my top 25 at any point in the season, which a lot of people gave me shit for.

I think quality of loss does actually matter
the rankings of the 1-loss teams seem correlated with the quality of the team that generated that 1 loss, though a big win is enough to overcome an ugly loss when comparing otherwise similar teams

SMU and TCU both have one good stretch for like 2-3 years and were largely trash outside of that. SMUs was just a lot more recent than TCU. SMU has also been abysmal since coming back from the Death Penalty, and while TCU was relegated to G5 they were at least winning games in the WAC/MWC.
KU and Ok-St are pretty close, I gave Ok-St a slight not for 1988 and 2011. Not sure if KU was ever that good at its peak, but Big12 fags know more about the two programs than I do
