I've been staring at this picture for 15 minutes.. Each face has its own brand of agony. Let's start with the kid.
11-12 years old. He is wincing. He is holding his hands to his goofy hat as if they will help his brain comprehend what it is seeing. He has never felt this crushed by a sporting event in his life. This is his 1 strike away moment. He looks like he is in physical pain, as if someone is stabbing him in the heart.
Moving to the right in the blue jacket. He is stunned. He is the only fan looking at another part of the field; only he isn't looking at the field. This is the 1000 yard stare that you get from someone who is utterly lost and unable to comprehend what is happening in the moment. He looks like he's on the first part of, "ARE you kidding me?"
Moving to the right with the guy in the tucked in t-shirt. Horror. He is watching the ball sail by d'Arnaud as if someone is throwing his baby out of a moving vehicle. The baby in this case is his world series dreams. He can see the life sail past him. He cannot look away from the trainwreck.
Next to the right. Disgust. His head hurts too much for him to even place his hands on it. He looks like he is saying "How?" As in, "HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID, DUDA?!"
But the next one is my favorite. Moving back one to the left and then up, is Meta-face. This man is looking directly into the camera lens. It's as if he knows we are looking at this photograph a day later; as if he knows it will become a bookmarked memory for time immemorial. His timing is perfect. His expression says to us, "Look upon me. Look at this moment as it lies before you. This is what it is like to be a Mets fan. Bask in my agony." left of him, another 1000 yard stare, his hands cover his mouth in disbelief.
A couple of people have already turned their heads as if they are walking away. These are the "Literally can't even"s, and they are done with baseball right now.

Sure. As flawed as they were, the Giants were the last NL team eliminated from a playoff berth, still in the race until the last week of the season.
Giants had the best overall offense in the NL despite all the DL trips and starting the year with a hole at 3B instead of what would turn out to be a legit ROTY candidate. Imagine that. With fewer injuries and barring trade possibilities, that means guys like Tomlinson and Parker can come off the bench. That's a fucking deep offense with both championship experience and youth on its side.
The rotation is a major problem, but the Giants can spend. Fortunately the free agent market for starting pitchers is deep this year, so the chances of picking up someone who wants to play in a pitcher-friendly park for a guaranteed HoF manager on a contender that seems to pick up steam every other year are quite good. Even the seemingly worst-case offseason scenarios produce a rotation that is better than what the Giants had the past two years, with fewer question marks. Bullpen lost Affeldt but Strickland and Osich were revelations.
Giants are even starting to be more aggressive on international scouting. They locked down Bahamian shortstop Lucius Fox earlier this year, which will limit how much they spend on international free agents for the next two years. Since they're paying a penalty now, they're open to loading up with more international free agents this year.
tl;dr - Nothing about 2015 indicated that the Giants window is closing. There were too many signs of hope, the problem areas seem easy to identify and fix, and they are being aggressive about fixing them with ample means to do so.

I actually hope Greinke goes to the Giants. My ultimate dream would be to see a 2014 rematch of the Giants vs the Royals, with the Royals winning this one. It would establish the Royals as a dynasty level team (2 Championships in 3 consecutive World Series) and doing at the expense of Greinke would be doubly sweet.

They're definitely going to go after an outfielder, but Beltran is most likely staying this year, and we have adequate replacement for him in our farm. I don't think Gardner will stay for next season though, and it'll make room for Cespedes/Upton/Heyward. I don't think that the Yankees will be competitive next season, but they will be in 2017 so signing a starter now would help us kick start that competitiveness so we won't have to worry about finding a good starter in the 2016 offseason

Well if they want a SP I would stay away from a player who's in their mid 30s. Zimmerman is 29 who still has many years ahead of him. I would be shocked if they signed all those OF though considering how much money they have invested in their current roster. Cespedes will probably want at least 7 years for something around 180-200 million. Heyward would be a steal because of his age. 10 years for Heyward at 130 to 150 is a solid buy because at the end he'd only be 36. I don't know much about Upton desu.

The rotation ought to be decent with Tanaka/Severino/Eovaldi/Pineda and CC/Nova at the last spot.
The lineup is pretty much set for next year, the only real weakness being 2B, and maybe third if Headley keeps being a retard. Gardner/Ellsbury are solid, and we have plenty of outfield depth to replace Beltran or Jacoby, just in case, same with Bird and Teix.
Regarding 2B, just let Ackley and Refsnyder battle it out.
The only move I'd get behind is signing Price. Adding a Price and substracting one from the Jays would be huge.

Just got back in town a bit ago from going to KC for the World Series parade. Parade was awful to be honest. No music, they split players up individually, and put them all in pick up trucks and convertibles. The crowd was chanting dumb stuff like "kiss the ring" "crowned", "lets go royals", "mooose", and "we are royal". We were about 30 rows back from the street and could only see Chris Young's 7 ft. tall head (some people were beyond a whole block back). No double decker buses, no grouping of players so we could see them interact...and see them in general. We didn't even mess with Union Station sea of insanity and watched Jonny Gomes crazy WWE style speech from a nearby bar. Postives: College friends came in from around the country and it was amazing seeing them. We are still world series champs. Negatives: Walked 4 miles to the parade, 4 miles back, and couldn't see the players. Two flew in from Seattle and Portland and saw no one. I got pretty sick out of nowhere.
