TEXAS VS THE NATION GAME
>>
Here we go. There WILL be two SEC schools in the second CFB playoff.

Bama will beat LSU convincingly this week and shoot up to number 2 in the polls. Unfortunately for Bama, they aren't in control of their own destiny. That quality loss to Ole Miss means that as long as the Rebels win out, the Crimson Tide won't make it to the SEC championship. Looking at the rest of Ole Miss' schedule, it's quite obvious that they'll win out. What does this mean? Ole Miss wins the SEC, and Alabama's only loss is to the SEC champion. This is a sure lock for both teams.

Ohio State will win out, and since they're the defending national champion, they'll make it.

Clemson will also win out, and since they're a southern school they'll also make it (but just barely).

TCU and Baylor are less fortunate. Both teams will be undefeated when they meet up later this month. The winner of the game will also finish undefeated. Unfortunately for them, there is no Big 12 championship game, so they're out despite a flawless record.

The Pac 12 has already defeated itself, no team is getting in from that conference.

Notre Dame will win out, with it's only loss over the ACC champion Clemson. They'll sit comfortably at number 5 because they're Notre Dame, and will lose their New Year's Six bowl game in hilarious fashion.

And the G5 underdogs - who can forget about them? Today's poll has shown that the committee has next to no love for Memphis, Toledo or Houston. The biggest loser of the three will be Memphis; they will win out and take home the AAC championship. Despite beating Ole Miss earlier in the season, they'll be lucky to grace the top ten come September.

Final rankings:

1. Ole Miss
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Clemson
5. Notre Dame
6. LSU
7. Baylor
8. Florida
9. TCU
10. Stanford

The rest is irrelevant.

Screencap this now - you know deep down in your heart that every prediction here is tried and true.

No bowl committee wants to take two Group of 5 schools. A bowl game is a money-making endeavor above all else, that's why a school like OU got the bid in the 2014 Sugar Bowl over other Big 12 schools, because they're guaranteed to sell their ticketed allotment.

I see an unclear distinction between them, although TCU's being that high shocks me considering they have beaten just one team with a winning record and played an FCS team. I suspect that will balance out as Minnesota continues to lose.

TCU has also struggled mightily, though, which I can see the committee clearly values, as MSU has a pretty strong schedule, as does Iowa.

Remember that I didn't have OSU in my top 4 before the committee announced their rankings. I had MSU and Iowa above them.
>>
>>63311199
And 3 of their wins are against shit teams. Not sure why their sos is so high.
>>
>>63311195
The difference is you're talking about Boise and TCU, not Toledo. Boise and TCU are the closest you'll get in the Group of 5 schools to Power 5 (and the latter actually is a top Power 5 now), but taking two schools that aren't exactly established as Group of 5 teams that will A. travel well and B. draw a good television audience is why that matchup is never going to happen.

It will also balance out when TCU plays all of the other top three teams in the Big 12 in the coming month. Talking about future wins or losses is worthless when taking this current ranking into consideration, as this is meant to be based on current resume.

I'm not arguing with your personal rankings, I'm arguing that the logic behind the CFP committee's rankings is widely inconsistent and seems to favor certain teams over others despite near-identical resumes.
>>

What will be your reaction when the committee puts 2 SEC teams in the playoff at the end of the year? LSU will end up playing Bama in the semifinal and losing the rematch (again). Just watch. It's 2011 all over again.

I hear the Big 12 needs to expand. Don't you want to get in on SEC recruiting territory and absolutely kek Ole Miss in the process?

There should be a rule that if you don't win your conference you don't get a playoff berth.

I would much rather see a Big12 meme team than 2 SEC teams.

If they have two losses, they would be out of the picture. Right now they only have one loss, why should they not be considered? There are many weeks left and things will sort itself out just like last year. Bama still has a chance to win it's conference.
>>
Hypothetically speaking, let's say LSU wins out. Due to SOS, they get the #1 seed, no questions asked. Bama can conceivably only sneak in as the #4, which would match them up with LSU in the semi final.

Is that a legitimate scenario? A 2 loss Bama team facing an undefeated LSU for a title berth having already lost to LSU at home?
>>
>>63310723
Of those 4 teams at least 3 will have a loss by the end of conference championships m8.

glad I decided to stop giving a fuck about NCAA football years ago. ncaa is rigged, and this committee shit is pretty bad. Not bcs bad, but it's still bad. 4 team playoff is meh, wish it was 8 or 12. no one could really bitch then. fuck ncaa.

nfl where the big dogs eat
>>
>>63311494
No, it is not. The stupid shitposters here would lead you to believe that, but it would not happen unless a bunch of crazy shit happened and almost every other team in the top 10 started dropping games left and right. If Bama loses again, they are out. It works itself just like last year. Remember that first CFB ranking? Yeah, now look at the final one before the playoffs.
>>
>>63311410

You're going to call my posting "illogical" when we just saw the "logic" of the first CFP rankings?

I'm not the madman of the night

A bama team that lost to a poopshit 2 loss Ole Miss team, played Tennessee and others close, and had Middle Tennessee community college and friends scheduled, is ahead of like 5 undefeated teams at #4

I don't even know what to believe
>>
>>63311528
But does that warrant a gap as large as 3rd to 8th? Because I genuinely don't think so.
>>
>>63311554
the logic is the big 12 is a meme, which is logical.
>>
>>63311554
And they play the #2 team in the nation on Saturday. If they lose, they're out. If they win they deserve to be in the top 4. Stop shitposting.
>>
>>63311410

but how far will the committee drop bama when they lose? the artificial ranking is bullshit because it keeps them ahead of teams they have no business being ranked ahead of in the first place. it may not matter for the playoff but it does matter when it's time to schedule the bowl games.

I'd have to say the gap between 3 and 8 is extremely small. I can't justify Notre Dame's ranking. I'd be more comfortable with 3 and 7.
>>
>>63311627
They'll still be ahead of Florida for sure
If quality of wins and losses mattered, they'd be behind Florida now, so I see no reason why losing to the THEN undisputed best team would cause them to drop.

and then we finally get our shig12 implosion. what a time to be alive

Because in November you're faced with the SEC who plays a lot of their better conference games early, the Pac 12 which also does this, and compared to the extremely backloaded Big Ten and Big 12 schedules. How do you make sense of the Big 12 so far? You can't

You know what? This actually works out better for me, ya know? Might get another bowl game with Ole Miss, ya know what I'm sayin'? Why should I be mad? At least this time they didn't keep me in the Top 4 for a month just to drop me out at the last week for no reason. I just wish I hadn't wasted non-conference scheduling spots against teams like Arkansas and Minnesota.

It ain't like I'm gonna be sittin' up every night at the window askin' "when's the playoff committee going to give me a shot at a national championship?." The playoff committee wasn't there to put me in national championship games, but I won 3 of them, didn't I? I won the Men's Gymnastics championship without them. I won Cross Country, Swimming, and Equestrian titles without them. I had 5 great championships in Women's Bowling without them, they never even sent me a damn card.

TO HELL WITH THEM!
