Samefag btw, but it's pretty obvious.
So guys, I was talking to this royals fan in KC the other day(I had to go there for a work related incident, I'm a Cardinals fan btw) so I check out a local sports bar and start talking to the local royals fans who were like 18 and 20. I asked them how they felt about the world series and they could only spout out "MOOSEEEE" and "WIZARD OF HOZZ" "Escy and Perez are so pro and likeable" so being the cardinals fan I was I decided to embarrass them and I brought up the 1926 world series. Asking how they felt about Babe Ruth trying to steal 2nd and ending the world series as well as their opinions on Les Bell's home run in game 6. They stood there with their mouths open dribbling some stuff about KC Clutch and how it was so cool Escobar got an inpark homerun to start the series off. What a bunch of hooligans who don't know anything about baseball. I ended up leaving the bar while they went on about Yost being the greatest manager in baseball.
I watched the royals for countless years be a joke of the league. Constant basement dwelling in the AL Central and pretty much being an entire embarassment. I felt imense sorrow for the fans in KC who had to put up with all this for so long. But then they shored up that farm system and sure enough turned it around. Ended a 29 year postseason drought last year and ended a 30 year world series drought this year in such dramatic fashion too.
There is nothing to be bitter about with the Royals finally winning. Couldn't have happened to a better team. Congratulations Royals. You all deserve it.

That's the irl last name of the guy who plays Jim Halpert.
I think it's good that Kansas City finally gets some happiness. The royals were trash tier evey year and the chefs sure weren't doing shit. You knew eventually one team would break out. I actually pegged it as the Chiefs though.
Go Chiefs
So after this win, KC is out of the conversation as one of the most depressing sports city next to Cleveland? Who takes their spot?

Too bad /sp/ is full of shitlords who need to check their good team privelege because they've never experienced waiting 30 years for a win so they're mad because they don't understand it.

The Royals don't have dump trucks full of cash to throw at top level guys. Never have, probably never will.

Cheapskate. If the Nationals wanted to win a World Series, front office needed to hire a good manager. Theo Epstein did that with the Cubs and poached Joe Madden from the Rays. The following year, Cubs make it to the ALCS exceeding expectations. Nationals will not win a World Series with Dusty at the helm.
At the Reds can hire Barry Larkin as manager once the front office realizes that our current one is awful when they get their heads out of their butthole.

Flores is better at 2B but mets need much improved mid fielders to catch all those ground balls starting rotation produces. I hope they trade him and get something good.
Honestly would trade d'Arnaud to an AL team so he can go between catching and DH. Offensively, he is a solid hitter with good pop. He handles the pitching staff well and hits really well for a C, but his defense and throwing are disgusting. Plawecki is far less a power threat, but he is much better defensively and handle the pitching staff well.
Following lineup:
RF - Grandy
3B - Wright
LF - Conforto
C - d'Arnaud/Plawecki
1B - Duda

I'll leave this here
Last night was a punch in the fucking gut. Probably as much for me as anyone else. I’m sure it wasn’t a lot of fun for those who bought WS tickets at Citi Field. But I watched it from Lawrence, Kansas, in the middle of a pile of fucking Royals fans. All of them with hats that look like they’d been purchased about 13 months ago. Obnoxious mother fuckers. And I’m not the sort of opposing fan who makes a scene when his team is winning or losing in that sort of environment. But I had multiple Royals chode-cunts get in my face. Nearly punched one fat fuck in the mouth, but I didn’t think the girlfriend would like it very much.
I’m glad that tonight we’re looking at a start from mother fucking Matt Harvey, even if he’s looked like shit on occasion over the last month. I’m glad it’s the fucking guy who turned every 5th day into a goddamned event, even when this team sucked balls. I’m glad it’s the guy who used to put a perfect game in play every fucking time he took the fucking mound for a period of months. I’m glad it’s that guy again tonight, and I don’t give a shit for Edinson Volquez. I hope to hell the sadness of losing his father makes him lose again. Fuck him.

MLB been on his dick since he was a teenager. If he hasnt broken though by now, what you see is what you get. There is no more potential, he is a .290 hitter with 20hr power and fragile.
daily reminder the cubs blew a 3 run lead in the 8th inning of the 2003 NLCS, gave up 5 additional runs, and blew game 7, and blamed it all on one fan trying to catch a foul ball
>>63299603
I haven't seen a tremendous amount of him. I saw a lot of the cards in the playoffs and in September. He seems like he has more to offer but again he's been in the league for what, 5 years now? It would make sense if this is basically what you get. A .260 to .290 hitter and around 20 HR a year.
How is he defensively? He seems like he would be pretty good because he's tall and lanky.

Yeah but he been consistent starter in the league since he was 19. Its not like he came up at 23 or 24 and then started. Im not saying he is bad, because he is a solid player and would be great on any team, id even say he is a top 25 outfielder in the majors, but the scouts made him out to be the second coming of willie mays, which he is clearly not nor will will he ever be.

Yes senpai
What do you say, /sp/?
"at bat"
or
"at-bat"
I'm talking about the noun here, not the prepositional phrase. i.e. "He just had his first [AB]," not "Who is [batting] right now?"

I liked it better when #kissthering was plural
We can do that since we got back to back ones but we don't because Jays fans are the classiest lads in all sports tbqh

>>63300559
Those were somewhat locked options. I'm way more interested in who they pursue in FA. They need a solid number 1 or 2 starter. I honestly think sanchez and Osuna should stay where they are. Cecil Sanchez and Osuna is okay with me for the bullpen. If I was Shapiro I would try and get Zimmerman because a 4 to 5 year deal at 20 is pretty good. It's also worth noting that taking a chance on somarj wouldn't be all that bad either. His value has dropped with his latest struggles but he's still a solid rotation guy.

we only have 30-35 million to work with taking into account everyones options being picked up and various arbitrations because rogers is a cheap cunt and keeping the payroll the same despite sitting on a 34 billion dollar empire

>>63300968

>>63300965
>mfw its actually nohs and bees false-flagging
>>63300970
Well you have no choice. Unless you trade someone with a lot of salary for young players I don't see how they have a choice. Rogers will make money if they spend it on this team. If they spent an additional 20 to 30 million on the salary they can make 4x that on ticket holders and TV ratings. 40 million is legit pocket change to rogers.
>>63301005
>mfw Royalsfags are SO insecure and SO worried their meme ring was a fluke they literally cannot stop shitposting and when confronted they scream "MUH FALSE FLAG" as if their fanbase wasn't full of inbred bandwagoner flyover meth addicts
>>63301068
It's more so the inferiority complex. They felt so inadequate for 30 years they've just resorted to mass shit posting.
>>63301064

I've been staring at this picture for 15 minutes.. Each face has its own brand of agony. Let's start with the kid.
11-12 years old. He is wincing. He is holding his hands to his goofy hat as if they will help his brain comprehend what it is seeing. He has never felt this crushed by a sporting event in his life. This is his 1 strike away moment. He looks like he is in physical pain, as if someone is stabbing him in the heart.
Moving to the right in the blue jacket. He is stunned. He is the only fan looking at another part of the field; only he isn't looking at the field. This is the 1000 yard stare that you get from someone who is utterly lost and unable to comprehend what is happening in the moment. He looks like he's on the first part of, "ARE you kidding me?"
Moving to the right with the guy in the tucked in t-shirt. Horror. He is watching the ball sail by d'Arnaud as if someone is throwing his baby out of a moving vehicle. The baby in this case is his world series dreams. He can see the life sail past him. He cannot look away from the trainwreck.
Next to the right. Disgust. His head hurts too much for him to even place his hands on it. He looks like he is saying "How?" As in, "HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID, DUDA?!"
But the next one is my favorite. Moving back one to the left and then up, is Meta-face. This man is looking directly into the camera lens. It's as if he knows we are looking at this photograph a day later; as if he knows it will become a bookmarked memory for time immemorial. His timing is perfect. His expression says to us, "Look upon me. Look at this moment as it lies before you. This is what it is like to be a Mets fan. Bask in my agony." left of him, another 1000 yard stare, his hands cover his mouth in disbelief.
A couple of people have already turned their heads as if they are walking away. These are the "Literally can't even"s, and they are done with baseball right now.
Remember when the Royals absolutely demolished the Blue Jays with a score of 14-2
what a fluke
>>63301138
dickey and penington pitching were responsible for 7 of those runs
>>63301138
>reminder they needed to do it off an inconsistent washed up knuckleballer
Pic related, this kills the Royals offense
>>63301157
flukey
how many of those runs was your outfielder-as-pitcher responsible for
>>63301138
dickey got keked hard in that game
>>63301097
If what you said is true, why wouldn't they dump money into this team? It's the most opportune time considering their biggest weakness atm is the rotation. I would love to know how much money was generated by the 2nd half alone. I bet it was more than the past 2 years combined.
>>63301173

>>63301205
>jays were lights out except for that one flukey fluke
>>63301179
>why wouldn't they dump money into this team?
what part of cheap uninterested owner do you not understand? He doesnt care at all, he doesnt go to any games, the team is like an accessory to them.
Insiders who got the jump on AA leaving have already said payroll will stay the same as 2015
>>63301222
nice poll i voted on it
