Correct. He doesn't
The money was pulled on that operation back in the summer when the announcement was made. There was even a Realtor's for sale sign in front of the shop. I think it got taken down for PR reasons.

This blows my mind. Even with all the safety features these cars/trucks have now, he's lucky to be alive after Vegas.
>>63685381
Was there.
Scary wreck. Hardest at LVMS since Jeff Gordon in turn 2.
Broke the HANS device, his helmet bounced off the steering wheel. Very similar to Dale Sr. except the HANS device did reduce the velocity of his head movement as well as having a closed face helmet unlike Dale Sr.
He's luck to have come away with the minor injuries that he did. There is no SAFER barrier where he hit.

Was that the woman that got intentionally wrecked by that cunt Tony drissi? I think she was in the lead at road America or mid Ohio
Funny how last year when Crafton won the championship, half the ceremony was for sucking off Kyle Busch and his owner's championship up on the stage. This year it's the reverse, and the Thorsport team isn't on stage.

Do you guys really believe the old tale that if the Tony Renna video got out it would be the end of open wheel racing in the United States?
>>63690856
The theory is that if it happened live during the 500 it would be trouble, video of a test crash wouldn't mean much to most people.
Anyone listened to the "dinner with racers" podcasts yet? I downloaded a few and it's pretty good, the Beaux Barfield and Bob Varsha interviews have interesting insights.
>>63690920
>if it happened live during the 500 it would be trouble
It would be a little more than "trouble".
For fucks sake at Daytona when Austin Dillion hit the catch fence and a few small pieces went though, people tried to sue. Could you imagine if an entire car went through the fence and into a crowd?
>>63690940
Well in 2010 or 11 a full rear wheel assembly went through on Mike Conway's crash and there was never a peep a about it.
And Dillon crash was more than a fee small pieces, the guy that sued got brain problems, just like the lady at St pete who got hit by a piece of carbon.
>>63690962
>>63690940
Sheeit I'm an idiot and am mixing up the nationwide wreck from 13 with Dillon's crash, my bad

>>63690856
By itself, no. But the thing is, Renna didn't just crash. The forced silence around his crash is more than just respect for the family. Death in motorsports happens all the time, Renna's was no different other than he maybe got cheese grated. Something else that hasn't gotten out yet was going on that morning

What are you talking about
Are there any videos left on the internet that show the aftermath of Russell Phillips bad crash at Charlotte back in '95? A video or picture of it has to exist somewhere.
You now remember that Bruce Jenner raced sportscars
>>63704322
You mean Caitlyn? XD
>>63701319
I mean how did a single car doing testing runs not only get airborne but clear the catchfence and wind up half in the stands? Was Ganassi or IndyCar trying something funny? Was there a major flaw with the car or the fence? They've gone to great lengths to keep all details possible of this crash from going public, which is very suspicious seeing as how a car ended up in the grandstands which I think should have been grounds to be crystal clear with the fans because that jeopardizes their safety
>>63705631
It was very cold and he went below the apron which caused wind to get under the car... this is not hidden at all
>>63701976
there's a 1 minute video that feels like it was taken from a home video of the crash and grainy as fuck (1995 home video cameras were shit compared to what a fucking cell phone can do now) that even from that looks very gruesome
>>63707262
Do you know where I could find it? I tryed looking around and could not find a thing.
>>63705734
Then why does everyone refuse to talk about it further? Name another fatal that is so hush-hush about details. But of course it's "out of respect for the family"
>>63708615
It's because his intestines were hanging off the fence. Christ, you're a retard.
>>63708764
People still talk about Gordon Smiley, Tom Pryce, Don MacTavish, and many other drivers that died in freakishly brutal accidents.
>>63708940
Those happened while cameras and audiences were live, it only makes sense...

We don't discuss F1 since there's already a general devoted to it
and that's how nascar was ruined forever.
worst race ever of all time.
France needs to sell the series to someone like Bernie Ecclestone so he can make it good again. Let the FIA control it so it can become a real racing series again.
these modern drivers are all soft ass pasty white cream puffs. Rick Mast going up against today's top 40 would consistently score podiums.

>Someone who has never been in a race car, owned a team, or even been a part of one is allowed to make the decisions for a major racing series
Thanks NASCAR
>>63747514
*the last
nascar used to be a tough grizzled form of racing. When Schumacher broke his foot at Silverstone '99 due to a brake disc failure and had to miss races; F1 didn't change the rules to give him the championship. When Jochen Rindt crashed Colin Chapman's Lotus at Monza '70 and missed races, F1 didn't change the rules and give away the championship to Jacky Ickx just because Rindt died. nascar driver's today are a bunch of pussies.
>>63747541
Don't care
>the RTA will never do anything against NASCAR's bullshit
>>63747541
F1 changed the rules when red Bull whined about tires. they changed the rules when teams complained about double diffusers, mass dampers and the like.
I bet Nick Tandy would fucking destroy Kyle Busch at oval racing.

>tfw won't be able to post this for a long time
>>63735415
They didn't actually ban them.
WEC provided the grid girls for the rounds and they decided to stop providing them because of cost.
They had no sponsors on their shirts due to no one giving a fuck about the 6hr races and them not having any sponsors.
They made up this bullshit about being a 21st century racing series which is progressive and then at Le Mans there are Motul sponsored grid girls for all the cars. Motul being one of the main sponsor of Le Mans.
I have no idea why WEC didn't just hand over grid girl duties to the teams instead of removing them.
Almost all motorsports outside of F1 run like that where the team provides grid girls for their cars.
It works the best as the teams get more advertising space, can tailor it to their needs and have a human side to connect to the fans (I know one of the Super GT race queens personally)
If they don't want to have grid girls they don't have to.
>>63749038
Exactly
The girls are there because they want to be there, no one's forcing them. Some of them even make the transfer into working for teams or broadcast networks while some will always be models.
The weird thing is that the national oil company BAPCO was a sponsor for the 6 Hours of Bahrain. I think staying away from sponsors is something the FIA wants done for events it sees as more "prestigious" but I never know with those slimy frogs.
>>63749592
Though lets be honest losing the WEC grid girls is hardly a massive thing. They weren't that good compared to some series.
>>63750334
Nothing wrong with demure outfits like that, kinda sexy on their own.
I couldn't even remember what the grid girls looked like from WEC because the broadcast hardly seemed to show them.
>>63747412 Rick Mast was the 90's David Ragan.
