I wasn't around /so/ back in 2010 for the South African WC.
When Green let in that Howler, what was this shitposting like? Did the bantz go on for weeks?
M
>Gerrard finally does something for the NT
>It's gone
kek
m8, it was mental
the shitposting was unreal.
this was at the height of the "yuros vs amerifats" era as well where we would have daily threads slinging shit at each other. the rivalry between americans and europeans back then was very heated.
people were looking forward to this game for months when the draws were announced, it was billed as an /sp/ megabowl. then when the match finally came it was incredibly shit. but when that goal went in yeah the shitposting was as you would imagine. that the US won it 1-1, that england didn't even top their group when they said it would be "EASY," a meme made by the english media and adopted by /sp/, a meme still spoken in whispers 6 years later.
No because the yanks realised that we literally fathered their shitty nation and fathered the sport we were playing.
Also, Robert Green was a CIA agent.

I wasn't here but I still remember that great moment. USA down with an early goal, not getting anything done offensively, and then BAM. First soccer game I ever enjoyed.
>>68750578
USA actually controlled the 2nd half but didnt get a goal
>>68750646
Yes but before the goal it looked pretty grim
