One of the most successful clubs in England senpai. Kiddies forget but they used to dominate, when the Premier League was formed Alex Ferguson refused to sign up to it unless Everton were on board.

It's a shame that 11 years of Moyes had them wallowing in mediocrity, but they're allegedly getting a new stadium in the next three years, finally have some money to spend and before Martinez ruined them they were finishing just outside the Champions League spots regularly.

They're only a decent manager away from being a decent club again.

Don't mind me, I'm just being the best referee in the world.
>>
>>67945765
Premier League has no good referees.
>>
>>67945349

That's not really what I said friend, I said that kiddies forget that Everton are an old and established club and were once one of the most successful, prominent names in Europe.

They aren't a nothing club that's cobbled their way into the league over the last 10 years after a few promotions, they're one of the staple clubs of the Premier League that have been held back over the last 10 years by having an owner who cant compete financially with other clubs in the league.

Now that this is no longer the case and they have a new stadium on the way and a billionaire owner, there's no reason to think a manager wouldn't want to join Everton just because "it's Everton" when he'll have an established club with a large fanbase and money to spend to compete.

>Now that this is no longer the case and they have a new stadium on the way and a billionaire owner, there's no reason to think a manager wouldn't want to join Everton just because "it's Everton"

I don't think anybody has ever argued this. No manager would ever turn down a club just because "it's [insert club here]", Ancelotti going to PSG and Pep going to Man City proves that.

>when he'll have an established club with a large fanbase and money to spend to compete.

Not in relative terms, though. Everton has the 7th, maybe the 8th-biggest fanbase of any English club. They have the 7th or 8th-highest annual revenue, the 8th-highest wage bill.....unless a top manager wants to spend a few years fighting for a Europa League place, there's no reason that he would go to Everton.

Every Premier League team has a billionaire owner at this point. Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham....billionaire owners, all of them.

>Look at City and Chelsea, Chelsea in particular. Attracted a top manager and top players despite being a completely nothing club, just because they had the money to do so.

You're vastly overestimating how rich Everton's new owner is. Moshiri's net worth is $1.9 billion. Abramovich is worth $10 billion, and the government of the United Arab Emirates literally has hundreds of billions of dollars to play with. Even if Moshiri somehow turned his entire net worth into cash, then spent literally every last penny on Everton, it would still be less money than Manchester City have spent since 2008. And they didn't even need to build a new stadium!

Yes you contrarian dipshit, lots of clubs have billionaire owners. But Everton managed to consistently finish just outside of the Champions League spots for several years, even managing 4th at one point with Phil Neville and Tony Hibbert as their two best players.

A team that manages to do very well on a shoe string budget can surely push into being more of a force in the league when given some money to sign quality players.

Moyes finished 6th in his final season with Anichebe and Jelavic as his strike force.

I'm not saying Everton are about to start dominating the Champions League for the next decade, but merely that they should be a reasonably attractive destination for any manger looking for a stable club with ambition to push forward and money to let the manager to do it.

That's down to Moyes not Everton. Just as Arsenal always scraping 4th is down to Wonga, not the club.

Why does this matter when they've finished 11th the last two seasons?

>they should be a reasonably attractive destination for any manger looking for a stable club with ambition to push forward and money to let the manager to do it.

But they aren't. They're just too far behind. Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester, and even West Ham are miles ahead of them in terms of revenue, the quality of their team, and modernizing their stadium/building a new one. How are they going to "push forward"? What does "push forward" even really mean in this case? Finishing 6th or 7th would be overachieving for Everton. Why would a manager like Pellegrini want that?

Because they finished 11th with a team largely considered to have under achieved, as opposed to the last 10 years when they were frequently considered to be under achieving. There's a reason the manager was sacked.

If they can keep the squad together and promise a new manager decent funds in the transfer window there's no reason any manager wouldn't consider that a decent job prospect.
