Kind of, it's a mix between that and a strong fear of men. Since I'm one of the only guys she's babied up to it would suck to leave all that progress to someone who might not be able to accomodate. In my state most people adopt APBT's as a status symbol, and regard that guard tendency as a thing to take advantage of.

honestly, I think political discussion is rife with egotism in most places, but I imagine places like your org, even if there is an agenda, seem to be led well enough to be productive, whereas social media and even 4chan seem too ego-driven to yield much more than shitposting. Idk man. While most of my friends are throwing money and time at the Bernman, I think I'll be spending my time focusing on state officials. Most people seem chained to the entertainment part of politics, even though they tried to avoid that. I think putting less attention to the POTUS and more to state officials would be more productive. yeah, but the big problem is that he has very severe hemivertebrae (congenital spinal defect that makes the vertebrae fuse and/or create a kink like shape in the spine) that causes him to not have proper control of his limbs and other issues that come with having his spinal cord compressed. testing and the surgery costs about 5k, and we just don't have that kind of money being a small stray intake shelter. some larger humane societies do, but OHS already denied the transfer because they don't see a high enough chances of a live outcome, and no one wants that blood on their hands
the infuriating part is that his old owners were "breeders" and he was specifically bred to have a tightly curled tail, which is almost certainly the cause of it. this is why breeds like pugs, bulldogs, or shiba inus with tightly curled tails as a breed standard are disproportionately affected by it

yeah, we have people fill out an application and such, and we can deny them for any reason (or no given reason at all) if something seems "off", since after a while you learn to spot the red flags pretty quickly, but of course we try to deny as few people as possible. it takes quite a bit to get put on the "do not adopt" list

Schools dont exist to give us knowledge but to seperate us into different classes of workers so that there are enough people working in mc donald next year. They also teach us the moralities and polticis that the state finds useful.

We get county money, but that's not saying much, otherwise we're privately funded. most of our grants come from the ASPCA, and weirdly enough, subaru sponsors many of our harder to adopt out dogs. and they help with transferring dogs from overcrowded california shelters to ours when we have room

doesn't help that kennel clubs are so obsessed with a "pure line" and keeping the current standards instead of their health. Dalmatians almost went extinct due to so little gene variation and disease, so some breeders crossed pointers (GSP, I believe) to keep them from fucking dying out, and much of the kennel club was outraged over it. these days you can't even tell which were mixed with the pointers, but many Dalmatian breeders still see them as "impure" or whatever. they're a shit breed anyway but still

Anyways, if not now, then I'm guaranteed to leave late June/July as blueberry season starts and I can go there to live with my relatives and collect blueberries, which can make anything from 20 - 50 € a day. Anyways, when I was a teen, I'd go to my relatives almost every summer and collect blueberries for cash, which is a hard thing to do in itself. My cousins did that as well. We wall would earn our money and buy whatever things we needed. Since my family is poor as shit my mother couldn't afford to clothe me, so I'd buy almost all of my clothes from my summer work. Besides, it was great fun as I'd get to live in a reasonably large city by Latvian standards, guy from rural setting, and get away from my home. I'm more than able to do what I want, I just need to wait for now. Then only I can achieve full autonomy for the first time of my life.

It's actually pretty bad. I was buying most of my own clothing by the time I was thirteen. My family had it tough through most of my life. It was the worst during the early-mid teens. Society doesnt work if everybody becomes an IT guy.
So school is purposefully constructed in a way that only like 25% of all people can get into college.
That means, if everybody would perform better in school, it wouldnt change the outcome of the 25%, they would just make it harder
to get into college.
Example from germany:
Before 1998 there were 30% of people on Universities.
Then there was an "education reform" where the politicians literally said "yeah were just going to let more people into college now because we need more educated workers".
After the reform, 45% of people went to University, not because they suddendly but more work into it, but because the state lowered the entry point.
What im trying to say is:
It doesnt matter how good you are in general, only how good you are in comparison to everybody else.
Lets look at this on a smaller spectrum:
The Gaußsche normal curve of distribution.
This is a system after which Grades have to be oriented.
In the class the most grades should be along a C (or a 3 in germany, we have a system from 1, awesome, to 6, fucking die.)
few people should have an A and few people should have a F.
If an exam is going bad, teachers still are forced to bump up the grades of the students to atleast a bit reflect the normal curve of distribution.

I switched from engineering to writing to music, back to writing, then teaching, all during hs. Pissed him off so much but he warmed up to all of them after a while. That last one though, he hit me hard. One day he told me I'll never be a good teacher and I fucking broke down. Now, for going to the unversity you need to pass certain exams etc.
These exams have to be so hard that only approximately 25% of the population passes them.
If everybody starts performing better cause they really start to get their shit together, they´ll just make the exams harder, because it makes sense to let only 25% through.
Thats a very effective method because you can easly determine how hard the exams need to be instead of using some other shitty rules for that and you dont have too many people in your free unviersity system that will end up homeless, which would obviously be bad for the state.

Rarely and typically at very impromptu conditions. Where I live the best time to take uppers was last summer as actually interesting stuff happened whilst under them, such as buying my first ever car whilst experiencing a huge body high and going fishing on a lake drinking coffee liquor and doing lines later that very same day amongst many other things. Now it has gradually become less and less interesting and every time I do take any uppers it feels pretty underwhelming and I'm in it purely for the first rush. I can count the times I've done any since the last summer on both of my hands, which is to say very few times. Mostly I stay away from it and refuse any offers to get high, even if it is for free, and I doubt the novelty of speed is going to come back. Drugs are boring anyways, can't say it occupies my thoughts at all. Eating burgers is more interesting than speed at this point as I rarely get any burgers. Literal meme, I swear. I should've spent those ten eurodollars on fast food or something. How can people become hooked on this shit and use it everyday is beyond me, same as with alcohol or marijuana. High is only as good as how lucid your sober thinking is, so people chasing faux new age enlightenment with this are probably even the bigger meme. Tobacco is even more interesting than that, but only if you smoke when you are really experiencing cravings. Now I smoke what is either half a cigarette or a cigarette per day not to completely kick the habit but to keep myself edging and have that single ciggie to experience nicotine rush in its entirety. I wanted to write a card full of feels atleast though but even there I failed because I just cant.
I cant even think about telling them that I feel gratitued for their job as parents and that I love them and that theyre doing great etc.

Just Easter kind of stuff. Ate some eggs and deserts and now I'm just lazily reading something here and there.
Yesterday was the day after.
Usually bit tired and worn out. I'd describe it as being 'dry'. My jaw hurts a bit after uppers as I grind my teeth then. It happens to a lot of people. In an all there isn't anything particularly uncomfortable about the day after. I'd compare it to a weak hangover and whatever sense of feeling tiredness usually comes from not having eaten anything at all due to loss of appetite and not sleeping for prolonged periods of time whilst feeling hyper. Actually the worst is comedown which is when the high wears out but the effect that causes lack of sleep remains, so you feel like you should sleep but you can't. Either way, keeping yourself calm and hydrated will eventually let you fall asleep. It is shit if you have to do something the next day as you can't think at all and your body is tired. I've heard downers and marijuana fix the sleep issue easily, but I've never tested it out.
I rate it 5/10, pretty meh after the first few times.
