Anyone on /soc/ meditate, into mindfulness or Buddhism?
I started meditating like 14 years ago, but I eventually programmed triggers in my mind to go into the state instantly, so I can basically insta-meditate whenever. Pretty cash. I suspect I'm not really your target demographic, though.

Why not? Sounds like what I was looking for.
Tell more about how you do that? How did you even get interested?

I'm not really your target demographic because I have very little in common with Buddhists or people who use it for inner peace or anything like that. I got into it when I was first getting into the occult, because everything begins and ends with meditation.
I don't know how to explain programming mental triggers to someone with no experience, but it's conceptually similar to the kind of triggers hypnotherapists use. I programmed the triggers because it was way more efficient to cram long meditation sessions into a minute or less, so I could get more done. Also, the process of having to go under gradually seemed tedious to me, and there are many times when being able to slip in and out quickly is useful.

I do not, but I hear it's a good thing. I don't truly know how. I take naps instead.

definitely mindfulness. It's quite compatible with Western thinking. Learning how to live in a state of mindfulness got me through some hard times and puts me in a position to help others.
