From what I see Telegram is the best compromise between privacy and usability. Tox, Mumble, and XMPP are better IM in regard to privacy. But a step-down towards a more user-friendly IM Telegram is better than whatever else is out there IMO. If /soc/ recognised what good this app is everybody would be better off.
