i have my nostril, septum, ears. my most recent ones are my tragus and helix which were done at the same time about six weeks ago? they're still sore af, any tips to heal them? my nostril healed without a hitch after i changed to jewelry that wasn't prone to getting yanked out. figured ear cartilage would be similar

i'm not really a fan of any facial piercings but nose piercings (nostril and/or septum) for some reason (hence why that's all i have). less enthusiastic about doubles like snake bites. that's just my preference, though, if the guy was attractive it wouldn't matter really (i've dated guys with them before). and regardless, if you're into it - you should get it!

this isn't true at all, it totally depends on the location of the piercing. my lobes, septum, and helix were all done with cbrs as the initial jewelry. there is a lot of controversy about what's "best" but it depends on the individual, the location, and what kind of jewelry they're going to wear in it when it heals. i could never have healed my lobes with posts in them, and my septum was the easiest piercing to heal out of all mine. they were all done professionally.

i say go for it! i got my cartilage piercings done on a whim and love them. just wish they would heal so i can get the other side done haha. i've heard for healing that the further away from your heart, the longer it takes to heal. that makes sense as far as amount of circulation they get. i saw a nifty infographic somewhere but can't seem to find it. seems like they'd heal fairly quickly based on that, especially if you ditch the bra for a few weeks (so summer would probably be the best time haha)

i think all those would look great on you, but all together might be a lot of metal concentrated in one part of your face. not even sure a medusa/smiley combo would work if you're wearing jewelry in both at the same time. having my nostril and septum both fills up my whole freaking nostril with metal and sometimes the jewelry even gets tangled together. you get used to it, but physical space is definitely limited. you should definitely go for whatever you want (and i'm sure you'll pull it off well) but just something to think about.

ahahah yeah cartilage piercings are crazy different for everyone, i think i am quite lucky with mine, my healing has been great, no nasty infections, moderate pain for first few days but after a week or two i was able to take it out and put in new stuff. i cleanred my first one with salt water spray and a q tip to get rid of crusties for about 3 weeks and that one worked out well but for my conch, my latest, i basically neglected it, i cleaned it properly maybe once every 2 days for a week then let jesus take the wheel and it turned out great so far. do not recommend though, you need to take care for your fresh piercings, especially if you havent had a cartilage one before, you might find you heal really well and painlessly or you might have a cunt of a time. if you do, pro tip, NEVER take out the jewellery, your body is angry and will immediately start trying to heal up the hole and you will not get it back in unless you let it heal 100% and re pierce it, so just tough it out

i mean i healed my nostril piercing okay, that's cartilage granted it gets a bit more circulation. i thought i just had issues healing my lobes (pierced improperly or w jewelry i was allergic to so many fucking times, problem after problem even after they seemed healed up. finally after try number 8 i have FULLY HEALED lobes) but it might just be ear piercings in general that are tough for me! my helix and tragus only had like a week or so when they weren't tender tbqh. they are still pretty sore now (although less so than recently). i had some kind of friction blister or something under my tragus (i don't think it was a keloid) - to be fair it seems like it moves around a lot, my hair gets caught in it constantly and the stud part seems thick and the bar is a just a little longer than necessary (initial jewelry). my helix was doing the best of the two, but it's got a keloid now. they both are still putting out crusties. it's just a headache. they are really fucking cute, tho, especially the helix which i love soo much. and i dropped way too much $$$ to give up on them haha.

battle it out. keep them clean with a proper salt water spray, get in there with clean q tips and dont change the jewellery around while its healing. i have a buzzed head so i dont have the hair problem anymore but you should really try not to let ur hair get stuck because ur hair can carry heaps of nasties and is able to get right in there onto the open wound and fuck shit up. maybe it could be something to do with ur piercer as well? i go to off ya tree in australia and they are super hygienic and well trained and i trust em a lot but maybe yours is doing something wrong? keep clean and battle it out i believe in u
